If I have to guess, I will say that history will repeat itself. WWI was relatively unforeseeable when it started with the assassination of Archduke of Austria Franz Ferdinand because people carried on like nothing happened for several weeks afterward... and then hell slowly unfolded. WWII was more foreseeable when it started with the invasions of Poland, even though that barely took over a month. As the invasion of Ukraine has already taken about 2 years and remains ongoing, and no one is carrying on like nothing happened, I don't believe it will cease anytime soon. Historians of the future (geniuses in retrospect) may even refer to February 24, 2022 as the "start of WWIII" and attempt to mock us for counting down afterward.
