FCA Postpones Publishing of Preliminary Reports

1
The FCA has requested all its listed companies suspend the publication of preliminary financial reports for at least two weeks. The reason for this is, naturally, the ongoing global health crisis.
“The unprecedented events of the last couple of weeks mean that the basis on which companies are reporting and planning is changing rapidly,” part of the FCA report says.
The FCA apparently understands that its listed companies are dealing with more practical issues that are related to the pandemic and that they need to take care of those issues first. Those preliminaries are not considered a priority and publishing them will just add unnecessary pressure in an already difficult situation.
This is probably a good thing, I just hope it doesn't backfire.
