What I like about this new version is that Mladen has managed to create a true "non-repainting" version of this promising indicator.
Now, If you're a long-term trader and you simply trade the Daily chart or higher, this indicator can easily be your best friend by simply taking trades off the Half Trend's alert arrows and use a trailing stop.
But for many of us who love to trade actively, intraday traders and trend scalpers can still benefit from such a solid indicator to catch smaller trends and waves. Give it a try and while you're at it, check out the Daily chart with the Half Trend indicator.

Thanks Mladen.

The source for the new (fully non-repainting) version was never made public
Hi Mladen

Is there any reason you are keeping this NRP version locked to ex4? Does this version have any other enhancements apart from the NRP aspect?

Cheers

Trying to understand your question and here is what I came up with - correct me if I am wrong :

  • You are actually asking if there is some "secret" or "miracle" in the new version
  • No, no secrets and no miracles
  • It "only" is addressing an issue that, for some strange reason, was not solved in any of the versions that I have seen and it is doing that in a most efficient way that I could come up with (after all we can never have as much speed as we need when it comes to using indicators from EAs)

  • PS: the "NRP aspect" might look like irrelevant these days since a lot of repainters are fixed - but you should look at the beginnings of mt4 and what was that "irrelevant" aspect doing to the whole trading community (including a lot of straight forward scams)

And I would really like to remind to one very old post of mine :

it is the decision of the coder in what form she/he will post something. Anybody that does not like it, has a simple solution : make your own code and then post it in any form you like

Cheers

Yep and far as I'm aware and as popular as Halftrend is, your's is the only one that doesn't repaint.

I remember the old repainters Supertrend, the old ma crosses, Hull and many more fixed by you, wonder how many were burned, besides me by the old repainting versions.

Thanks, I've used loads of your indicators over many years and it's always been great code.
