US Treasury Secretary Bessent takes control of the US war on Iran.
And immediately goes for the economic nuclear option, total sanctions on everyone. ‘Economic D-Day’ is coming.
There's just a couple of snags with this otherwise brilliant plan.
The first is that, as many commentators have pointed out, Bessent is not actually qualified for the role of US Treasury Secretary which is to oversee the financial health of the country.
He’s a hedge fund manager from the stables of George Soros himself which means he's an expert in market manipulation. Which is why that's all he's ever been doing since taking the Treasury job.
And he's also well versed in the art of bullshiting, on a par with Trump V2.0 himself.
Which leads to snag number 2 and that's China. China is of course the main aim of the sanctions threat as they take most of Iran’s oil. But the US already just lost a trade war with China.
The problem for the US is China’s total control of the world's supply of rare earths that the US needs for the manufacturing of high tech products especially missiles.
So what's Bessent doing - besides bullshiting?
The fact that he's been handed the job of winning the Iran war means the Trump admin are all out of ideas and are desperate.
Which is why Bessent has gone straight for the nuclear threat option and just threatened everyone.
But Iran’s 2 main backers China and Russia are beyond sanctions (the sanction hand has been so overplayed by the US) which is why this latest US stunt will also fail. Yes it will cause secondary countries to back away and will tighten the screw on Iran more but it still won't be enough.
It's a ’Hail Mary' attempt because Trump knows inflation is coming to the US and he knows Americans can't take it. It's the main reason Biden failed and Trump got elected after all.
In other news CIA chief Radcliff has gone to Moscow. Remember that it’s the CIA that is running the Ukraine war for the US and is way over the head of the president. He can’t possibly be going to reinforce the latest offer from the west on a ceasefire and eventual Russian surrender so what’s he doing?
On the battlefronts the Russian pincers are enveloping the Kramatosk conurbation which is the typical Russian tactic enabling a 3 sided artillery and drone attack to destroy Ukrainian positions to make safe for the troop move up the middle.
This tactic has kept Russian casualties to a minimum for the last 2 years and far below the propaganda figure repeated by every western politician and media outlet.
This final conurbation being taken by the Russians means the completion of the aim of taking the whole of the Donbas which must be the major concern of the CIA chief as in what is Putin planning to do next.
More on the story mentioned yesterday about women to be mobilised into the Ukrainian army. The London Telegraph tells us this is an amazingly wonderful move for the empowerment of women, yay for wimmins lib and feminism and all that. Terrific stuff, that’s why it’s being done and nothing to do with the lack of men at all.
Remember though that women have been able to volunteer for years now if they actually wanted to be ‘empowered’. You really don’t hate mainstream media enough.

Still no official word as to what the CIA chief was doing in Moscow but plenty of contradicting opinions.
What is fact is that Radcliff’s plane was on the ground for less than 3 hours and given the airport's distance from the capital he was in Moscow for less than 1 hour.
What is noticeable was that Witkoff and Kushner are absolutely not considered serious negotiators by the Russians anymore having kept them out of the country despite Trump making several requests to send them over many months now, all of which got the reply ‘not if they have nothing new to say’, which they obviously never did.
Some say Radcliff met with Putin, others say that is very unlikely (Peskov says definitely not). All agree he would have met with his opposite number in the Russian government. Some say he went to give a warning and a threat then left, others say he put forward the offer of a ceasefire, was told no, and left.
The CIA, not the US army, has been running the US war in Ukraine for a long time now. The head of the CIA wouldn’t go just to make threats, the Russians would have told him not to bother if that was the case.
He went with a proposal because he knows the Ukrainians are in deep trouble, that proposal was rejected and he left without even much of a discussion on the subject.
One of the Pope’s aides was also in Moscow at the same time and probably with the same mission and he got nowhere as well.
Meanwhile ex US VP Pence was in Kiev beating the drum and offering his advice that what Ukraine really needed was air defence missiles, so glad that’s cleared up. But like all the others, Pence offers no pathway to achieve the goal.
Ukraine is being systematically destroyed. The Russians are flattening every village and town and city in their path. And as the new Ukraine army chief Drupati redirects troops to try to save Kamatosk in the Donbas big holes are formed along the frontlines and are being exploited by the Russians.
Zelensky and Drupati have just announced that the commanders of the 2 big Azov army brigades have been promoted and sent to oversee the defence of Kramatosk.
This is a responsibility well beyond the 2 commanders actual training and who are known more as political figures. And the Brigades themselves, who have always had the best equipment and the pick of man power (so long as they are ideologically suited Banderites), the brigades themselves were usually kept as reserves for desperate situations and for the defence of Kiev.
That they are being sent to Kramatosk now is very telling.
Before the Russians entered Ukraine in 2022 and while the civil war was going on a British mercenary fighting for the Ukraine government side posted some videos on Youtube where he described how Azov brigade troops would kidnap civilians off the street in order to have someone to practise torture techniques on. Once finished they would dump the bodies out in the open to spread terror.
At the time the Brit was reevaluating the cause he was fighting for and was looking for a way out of Ukraine but before that he went missing and became one of the disappeared.
And in new news the Russians have started making direct threats against the UK on the heels of the new UK PM visit to Kiev and the promise of handing over the plans for Ukraine to make cruise missiles. A nonsense gesture because Ukraine can’t make them and the UK stopped years ago and no longer has the capability.
Zelensky still has some of the Storm Shadow missiles UK gave him previously and fired a few off into Donetsk City just a few miles over the frontline.
Where will this war end? Nobody knows, Zelensky will keep going so long as the money keeps flowing and Putin will keep going so long as the Russian army keeps moving forward and the Ukrainian army is being eliminated.
Meanwhile Trump might just be getting ready for an exit from Iran. He’s posting ‘mission accomplished’ posters on social media and telling reporters that the Straits are completely open.
The truth is that less than 20% of shipping is currently going through compared to pre-war. Probably half are sneaking past the Iran blockade and half past the US blockade.
Oil experts know what is actually happening by what is being loaded and what is being delivered, they don’t need to rely on anything Trump says or need to have eyes on the Straits.

Russian troops reach the city center of Orikhiv in Zap oblast, the last major town before Zaporizhzhia city itself.
Meanwhile, Ukraine sources report collapse of food stuffs supply chain following Russian drone attacks on warehouses.
Ukraine sources report the Russians have developed effective drone jammers with a 20 mile radius and are mass producing them to place over potential targets.
Ukraine tracks a Russian Shahed drone travelling over 900km to west Ukraine which is a new distance record for the drone type.
Also tested was a Russian Iskander missile with a 1000km range.
What has been relatively peaceful west Ukraine is now open to mass drone and missile attacks.
Ukraine drones hit a Russian airfield damaging 2 Tu-05 bombers.
Russian troops surround the Ukraine garrison in Drobropillya which is the main defence position in the way of the Russian left side pincer around the Kramatosk Sloviansk conurbation.
Once past Drobropillya there are only a few sporadic small villages north right up to Sloviansk itself and when the whole Druzhkovka-Kramatosk-Sloviansk conurbation will be surrounded on 3 sides by the Russians.
Russian drones are already flying freely throughout the whole conurbation and encirclement will allow artillery bombardment from both sides of the town and 2 cities.
Many commentators in the west still hang onto the idea that the Russians are losing large numbers of men but it is demonstrably not true.
In the early days when Prigozhin and his private Wagner group were running the Russian offensive in the Donbas he did empty prisons and force head on attacks while the actual Russian army was behind building defences.
Once the actual Russian army took over offensive operations after the defeated Ukrainian 2023 summer offensive they used the tactic of approaching the target using pincers to surround and then start a prolonged bombardment destroying Ukrainian troop positions within a kill zone. Russian ground troops were not really used at all for this stage which often went on for weeks.
Remember this is a war of attrition, the object is to destroy the opposition army, territory is not the objective. Once the kill zone is created the Russians want more Ukrainian troops to come and thanks to Zelensky’s ‘no step back’ policy they did.
The only reason for the Russian army to move forward is when the Ukrainians stop reinforcing a position and withdraw, forcing the Russians to follow on to the next stronghold, and start the whole process over again. We have watched this same very successful tactic play out many times over the last 2 and a half years.
Russian ground troop casualties have been minimal while Ukraine’s have been horrific. Soldiers know and they talk and word spreads, and so in Ukraine people need to be dragged off the streets by force while in Russia they volunteer in their 10s of thousands every month.

Donald Trump has completely fallen into line with the globalist elite’s great reset plan, I guess 2 assassination attempts and threats against your family will be enough to change your mind.
Trump’s 2 ongoing wars, his $2.2 Trillion budget request, rising interest rates, rising inflation all point towards a deliberate decline of the global economy’s engine room - the US economy.
He was actually voted in on a platform of ending wars and controlling inflation which Biden wasn’t able to do, and bringing jobs back to the US.
But after being elected Trump has done a Zelensky and is going full steam ahead in the exact opposite direction.
On Friday the US 10 year yield was back up to 4.7% which has been the trigger for intervention to prevent it reaching the dreaded voodoo 5%, the last by Bessent was his doubling of the government's bond buy back scheme which only eased the market for just a couple of days.
A couple of days is about average for all of Bessent’s attempts at market manipulation, a game in which he is a master having graduated from the school of Soros. If he can’t do it it’s probably not possible.
The interest on US 10 year Treasuries sets the benchmark for all borrowing interest rates, mortgages, credit cards, car loans. The Fed has some influence in setting a rate but it can’t buck the market, it must operate within the confines of what the market will tolerate.
Which is why the Fed is not following Trump’s wishes to just lower the rate themselves, the market would just ignore it, and so Trump sent Bessent to deal with the problem using his own special skills, and the market is just ignoring him as well.
