Europe desperately needs to drag the US back into the Ukraine war.
Traditionally when the US finds itself in a war it can’t win, the plan becomes to create a stalemate and hold on to the next election when the new president can shut it down.
If the new president is of the same party as the old they can shut down with excuses, or if from the other party, they can shut down with blame on the outgoing admin.
Trump had that opportunity and failed to act, he got talked out of just getting out, same as he was just talked into getting into the Iran war.
Now the Europeans are panicking, the propaganda that ‘Ukraine is winning’ for some strange reason did not turn into reality and as a result of the cumulative actions of starting and continuing the war the EU and UK economies are disintegrating.
Their economies were already in a bad way before the war. After 20 years of massive investment in renewable energy schemes that failed simply because they were far too ambitious, led on by the beating drum bullshit that the world was going to end in a few years because of the big, bad global warming monster, whatever happened to those good old days?
Anyway, it turns out that a complete swap of energy supply can’t happen at the flick of a switch after all, who could have guessed.
And of course that sorry saga was a principle reason for greedily eyeing up Russia with its huge (fossil fuel) energy reserves in the first place.
Pair that with the US’s ambition to control the global oil supply and provoking Russia became a deliberate policy and Europe can’t stop now, the economic situation has only become more desperate to the point of being almost existential for western Europe as it heads for the cliff with its foot hard down on the accelerator.
And in the Iran war the Pentagon leaks increasing in number and volume against Hegseth’s running of the war which is unsustainable and is causing serious problems throughout the whole US military.
These leaks were published in the Washington Post and have led to some critics calling the WP a traitorous organisation.
Some military commentators are saying the Pentagon is desperate for Congress to step up and do their job and rein in Hegseth and Trump.
But the problem is that the Dems are fully behind both the current wars. Maybe after the midterm elections Congress will act?
Meanwhile the US staged a limited drone attack on Iranian launchers to which Iran responded with missile attacks on Jordan and UAE.
And great news, the US has automatically put all males between 18 and 45 on a potential draft list. It used to be that individuals needed to register themselves but not anymore thanks to AI.
