The 60 day MOU officially ends soon and poor old Trump just doesn’t want to believe that if he just walks away from the Gulf war the Straits would just magically open up and all the damage done would start to heal, except the damage that he did to the US reputation in the region.

And of course the Straits will magically open up because the reason for them being closed will have gone and China will pressure Iran to open them if Iran didn’t but as far as Iran is concerned it will be job done and so no need for the sea way to remain closed

Trump though would rather go the other way and make things worse, like bombing Oman or nuking Pickaxe mountain, or siding with North Korea over South which are some of the choices he has aired on his latest great ideas list, at least then he might get some respect, like Genghis Khan or Hitler or any of the other great leaders from history, as Trump told the NYT recently.

Meanwhile in Ukraine the Russians are currently surrounding Kramatosk by sending a pincer northward on the Donbas city’s west side further cutting off supply routes. And further to my last post with the revelation that Ukrainian drones have a less than 1% chance of hitting the target Ukraine’s latest wave of 5,000 drones only managed to hit 2 warehouses inside Russia.

Excellent interview below with Macro economist Jay Martin, not seen this guy before but he definitely gets it. He describes in detail the end of empires being caused by inflation and then the current situation in the US.

Iran may step up the war on the US and drop its ‘retaliation only’ stance.

Increasing indications that the Iranians see that Trump now wants to settle into an on-again, off-again strategy that allows the US to restock missiles as they come off the production line before striking again to keep pressure on the Iranians to eventually capitulate.

It’s really not going to work but it’s the only strategy the Trump admin can come up with and they really, really want to believe, so why not.

Remember that the US navy can’t come within 700 miles without getting sunk, the US air force can’t fly over Iran to drop dumb bombs without getting shot down and the US army can’t land on Iranian soil without getting decimated by drone strikes.

So Trump doesn’t have much of a choice if he refuses to just declare victory and walk away. And remember too that Trump will be trying to put something of a lid on it at least until after the US midterm elections. Going into the elections it’s better to still have a simmering conflict rather than an actual loss.

Seeing all this the Iranians may be planning to stick a spike in the works by going on the front foot and forcing the US to respond just when they are in a ‘waiting for the missile deliveries phase’.

The Iranian plan would be to make Trump look like a total loser for the midterms. Destroying Trump that way would mean a fresh start for a new US leader and allow them the opportunity to step out of the war altogether blaming the whole debacle on Trump.

And all this may be why there are very recent leaks that Trump has again started talking about using a nuke on Iran. A threat to try to keep the lid on a simmering conflict and stop Iran from escalating or a real possibility?

Meanwhile, Russian FM Sergey Lavrov:

"Moscow is entitled to consider British missile forces' involvement in strikes on Russia as direct participation in the conflict in Ukraine, with all ensuing consequences."

A real stark wake up call for all the Europeans who thought they could just dabble in the conflict whenever they wanted risk free.

This comes immediately after Russia disclosed plans on the possibility of seizing British ships on the north Pacific trade route and the British navy telling the UK government that there was not a thing they could do about it.

Some bs unrelated to the war but Gold (XAU/USD) – Intraday Analysis

Summary: Gold is trading around 4,356, facing resistance from a descending trendline after recovering off the 4,325 support area. The recent rebound has pushed price back into the 4,355–4,365 resistance zone, where early signs of selling activity are emerging.

Bearish Scenario:
A rejection from the 4,355–4,365 zone, reinforced by the descending trendline, could push Gold back toward 4,335, followed by 4,325.

Bullish Invalidation:
A clean breakout above the descending trendline would weaken the bearish setup and open the path toward 4,380–4,400.

Key Levels:
📍 Resistance: 4,360–4,365 (+ descending trendline)
📍 Support: 4,325–4,335

Market View: Short-term bias remains bearish while price trades below the descending trendline, with the 4,355–4,365 zone acting as the key decision point for the next directional move.

Sentiment: Bearish (below trendline)

Ukraine in an air defence crisis, and a financial crisis, and a political crisis, and a battlefront crisis.

But never mind, the war must go on. Ukraine is not fighting just for its own sake, but also for the Ukrainian elites sake and for the European elites sake, and for the whole of Europe’s sake because the Russians will just roll on to Berlin if not stopped here. So there.

So the non-existent Patriot missiles must keep coming and the non-existent money from the bankrupt west must keep flowing.

On the bright side the sooner this shit show dies it’s inevitable death then the money drain will stop and all these useless western European leaders will be swept aside and hopefully along with the whole corrupted EU organisation.

The EU needs to go back to its roots, a simple free trade organisation. Since it expanded into this all encompassing authoritarian behemoth it’s brought nothing but disaster to the E3 (UK, France and Germany).

Gold makes a break higher on Bessent news. To recap, Gold has been selling off since the start of the Iran war fulfilling its role as a reserve currency. When cash flow is restricted - sell your US treasuries, but the US was putting pressure on countries not to do that, so Gold was the next alternative.

But there are limits and regardless of US warnings US treasuries have been selling off hence the 10 year yield approaching 5% and so Bessent just announced that the US govt was doubling its bond buy back scheme in an attempt to stabilise the US treasuries market.

Await to see if he has more luck than he did trying to stabilise the Yen sell off recently when Bessant sold US reserves of Euros and used them to buy Yen.
