Bizarre goings on in the Gulf as the US tries to blockade the Gulf rather than the Straits because they can’t get close enough due to the missile threat from Iran.

So the US navy is blockading the Sea of Oman (letting 40 ships pass over the weekend before Iran closed them again according to TASS) as they spent 6 hours trying to get 1 container ship to stop. Even US news outlets were reporting 9 ships passing the US blockade on Saturday alone.

Traditionally what happens is the blockading ship says stop or you will be boarded which would be done by helicopter deployment but there was not one close enough.

So instead the Americans fired cannon into the Iranian ship crippling it and then boarded once the helicopter arrived. The problem now is that they’ve got a crippled ship they must tow into port which will probably take at least a week and one less US ship to form the blockade.

A few more incidents like this and there will be no blockading ships left.

The container ship was heading to China and the Chinese are now talking of providing navy escorts for their ships.

Rumours last night that the US is going to end its blockade which would not surprise. The US have had no strategy since day 3 when the original plan failed. They have since been scrambling around making it up as they go.

Which is why many say it's all been a delaying tactic until all the troops sent for have arrived which should be Wednesday, the same day as the end of the ceasefire.

Landing troops will be a total disaster and will mean either total defeat for the US forcing Trump to run up the white flag, or again escalate and Vietnam 2.0, we shall see.

The US airforce just announced that the A-10 Warthog troop support ground attack jet will have its service extended until 2030 ‘citing its effectiveness in the Iran conflict’. Err, by getting shot down?

PS, the A-10 entered service in 1975, its design obviously heavily influenced by the Vietnam war.

Meanwhile US airlines are asking for emergency tax relief to cope with soaring jet fuel prices.

The inflation tidal wave is about to hit the west and after that comes shortages and rationing, and then comes the inevitable wave of job losses.

Oil is essential in the production and transportation of everything. Trump has been doing a juggling act to try to keep the price rise due to decreased supply down, but he can’t keep that going for long.

We are still not sure if the peace talks scheduled for today will go ahead or not, the deal is obvious (as I’ve pointed out before) but Trump wants an actual win instead of a win with spin and so far has always escalated in an effort to get that win but more rational minds say he already lost.

A big hurdle for Trump is that he’s gained a reputation for weakness, changing his mind and chickening out and he hates it, of course he says it’s all strategy but now feels the need to be extra tough which only hinders his attempts to extricate the US out of a losing situation.

The latest word is that Vance will be in the US negotiating team after all, in which case the Iranians will meet the US team, and so today will be deal or no deal and if no deal then tomorrow will be more war.

The way things are going, how long before Iran achieves regime change in the US?

Taco Trump Tuesday - again, Trump extends the ceasefire indefinitely because of err, well Iran has been ‘seriously fractured’ by the US bombing and Pakistan was begging Trump not to go ahead.

Iran being ‘fractured’ was news to the Iranians who before Trump’s post were actually celebrating in the streets during a parade of Iran’s missiles through Tehran’s city center. :mistake:

And still no word if there will be any peace talks after Iran said yesterday there was just nothing to talk about.

The US will continue its blockade saying it's costing Iran 500 million a day but even the London insurers Lloyds say over 20 ships have got through and they by no means insure all or even most shipping these days.

Perhaps Trump finally recognises he's caught in a trap? His only option left is a ground war which will end disastrously meanwhile a tidal wave of inflation is about to come crashing down on the US.

He can't sit on his hands. He’s going to be forced to act very soon.

His only choice is the negotiated settlement he should have made after day 3 and the failed attempt at regime change.

Like Zelensky Trump is hanging out for a miracle that will never come.

And speaking of Ukraine, to everyone's surprise Russia, instead of going after Zap or Donetsk as the target for their Spring offensive, is instead advancing along the entire contact line from Sumy in the north to Zap in the south.

Ukraine is not just running out of men but also equipment, especially vehicles and artillery. What they are getting is small drones and lots of them.

The Russians say these drones are being made in factories throughout Europe and have even identified them. The drones are shipped to Ukraine for final assembly so Ukraine can claim to be the maker.

The Russians have already determined that the best strategy against drones is small 3 man teams advancing on foot (no vehicles) and so that's what they are doing, across the entire frontline.

The Russians no longer have anything to fear from the Americans and incredibly the Europeans really are trying to prepare for a war with Russia around 2030.

Western Europe is failing, the industrial revolution is long over, it has no natural resources to fall back on and it’s been left behind in the tech boom, the US and even China are way out in front and won’t be caught up with anytime soon.

I suppose what's a dying civilization to do but seek to rob a neighbour? That's how it's always been done to try and save yourself in the past.

Back to Zelensky and now that Orban is gone the pipeline from Russia, through Ukraine, to western Europe, has miraculously been fixed and oil can now flow to Hungary again in the expectation that the new Hungary PM will not hold up the 90 billion EU loan to Ukraine.

The only problem now is that the new EU approved Hungarian leader seems to have become aware that if the loan goes through the Russian oil might not and he is wavering. Merz was also expecting Russian oil through the same pipeline but Putin doesn’t seem to be so keen to bail out a country that’s actively participating in a war against it. Especially as Merz looks to be going ahead with converting failing VW factories into making tanks (and drones). The loan to Zelensky may go through but then the oil might not.

Iran conflict enters a volatile standoff, both marine and diplomatic.

You blockade, we blockade, you seize ships, we seize ships, talks, what talks?

No bombastic posts from Trump last night and that’s significant.

Trump, having got a ceasefire out of the Iranians then went and not only kept up his own blockade but started firing on Iranian ships.

He did this incredibly stupid thing because he was absolutely determined to show to the world he was really the one in charge.

The Iranians immediately turned around and proved to the world Trump wasn’t in charge of anything.

Iran is showing the world that Trump’s rhetoric is completely false and no one can any longer be deluded as to the reality.

Now Trump has been frozen out of any kind of action at all. Sure he can go back to bombing rubble but that’s a waste of time, he could go down the Israeli route bombing the general population but that’s not going to make him any friends at home or abroad and most importantly will not break the Iranians.

He could land troops but word is that Trump has been made fully aware of the huge cost in US lives that would result from that action and he balked.

So now both sides are just staring at each other, but now the whole world, including everyone in the US, is becoming fully aware that Iran is holding all the cards and Trump really has none.

And all the while the clock is ticking down towards a global depression worse than the 1930s.

From here for Trump there can only be either a negotiated settlement with a Trump loss, or Vietnam 2.0.

Meanwhile Iran is still holding unused cards, bringing the Houthis in to block the Red sea, destroying Gulf states oil installations, destroying Gulf states desalination plants.

And even if Trump gets smart and negotiates he’s still left with the problem of Israel and their ambitions turned upside down and a more powerful Iran with future leverage over all the other Gulf states and Israel.

Tit for Tat
Tick - Tock.

US jet fuel up 30%.
US air ticket prices to increase 20%.

Gasoline up 15%, April PPI inflation likely to be 7%, up from 4.

German airlines cancelled 10s of thousands of flights over summer and there is the threat of electricity rationing in Australia.

Meanwhile the head of the US Defense Intelligence Agency submitted a written statement saying 'Iran retains thousands of missiles (60%) and one-way attack UAVs (40%) that can threaten Hormuz shipping and US forces’.

To which any of the news agencies carrying the story the Trump team just called ‘fake news’ despite the fact they are just quoting an official govt report.

CSIS (see video below) estimates of percentages of U.S. munitions expended in Iran are at or fast approaching 50% of total US stockpiles, that’s after just 50 days of the Iran war.

Even worse is the 4 to 6 years delivery timeline to replace stocks. No wonder Trump has stopped firing them off, can he really restart and have stocks at zero for the next 4 years?

4 weeks of war = 40% depletion of munitions stocks = 4 years til stock replenishment.

That is really very serious. Saudi, UAE, Bahrain, Taiwan, South Korea, Ukraine, EU, and all the other security dependents? Forget it, you're on your own for the next 4 years.

Trump meanwhile has ordered the Navy to ‘fire on and kill’ the small Iranian boats supposedly laying mines in the Gulf, not an easy task considering the US navy is stationed 700 miles away to keep out of range of the missiles and drones Trump says the Iranians haven’t got.

Whispers from the White House say that Trump’s dementia is not the same as Biden's. Biden would flip into and out of zombie mode with a generalised dementia while Trump has a ‘frontal lobe dementia’ that causes periods of inappropriate ‘saying, doing and believing’ behaviour.

Brent crude oil is back to over $100 a barrel and US spending on the war has hit $1 billion a day.

And the ‘Mexican Standoff’ continues, the problem for the US is that the Iranians have no reason to stand down while the US has many and they are mounting.

Great news then that both the Iranian and Russian economies are on the verge of collapse apparently and so everything will be just fine (except I think I’ve heard this one before?).

Back to Ukraine and the Russian high command reports they have captured a key town and surrounding high ground overlooking the 2 remaining cities still under Ukrainian control in Donetsk, Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, situated in the valley and whose supply routes are now well within range of Russian artillery and drones.

Re: WW3 Countdown

At last Zelensky is getting his €30 billion from the EU, that’s Ukraine's share of the 90 billion, 60 billion goes to the US and EU MIC.

The money was supposed to be raised by a bond market scheme but it seems that no one in the bond world thinks for a second that Ukraine is going to win this war forcing Russia to pay reparations. So instead the EU is just going to steal it from its citizens, the simple solutions are usually the best.

And, as most countries in western Europe don’t really have a pot to piss in, so most of the 30 billion will come from Germany as will a lot of the rest which will go towards Germany turning all the now redundant VW car making factories into tank and missile making factories.

This is important because the EU war with Russia is already penciled in for 2030 and we don’t want to be late. The tiny fly in the ointment is that making tanks and missiles takes as much energy as making cars and the Germans, with the rest of Europe, must be wondering where that energy will come from.

Not Russia, or the middle east, and now the US is hinting that they won’t be exporting energy if there are domestic shortages. If only Germany had some nuclear power to fall back on.

Anyway, war preparations are going well, Germany and Poland are practising simulated nuclear bombing raids on Moscow (unfortunately all the European missile nukes are under US control, except the French ones but the French never share) so back to planes with bombs it is.

And the Brits are busy practicing an invasion of Kaliningrad, they have to practice this at home because they don’t actually have any ships anymore.

You think I’m joking, sadly no.

When a country finds itself bankrupt then traditionally, starting a war to rob a neighbour, is the easiest way out.
