In the 3rd week of April the oil and gas shortage will be hitting hard in the west. Energy bills will start to exponentially increase, and along with fuel rationing businesses will start shutting down, unemployment will skyrocket. A lack of fertiliser due to Russian sanctions and now no imports from the Gulf will adversely affect this year's harvests causing increased food prices and food shortages.
Asian countries closer to the epicentre have already started fuel rationing and the deindustrialisation that automatically comes with energy shortages.
Gulf cities are doomed to die because they were built on sand, there was nothing before oil and without oil exports or desalination plants or imported food they will return to the sand.
In the middle east Trump will be forced to commit fully to a long term ground war in Iran after initial landing parties get bogged down and besieged.
Putin, watching the US forced to commit to the middle eastand Ukraine in disarray due to the EU’s failure to raise the 90 billion loan will mean the Zelensky regime running out of money. Pensions will not be paid, soldiers will not be paid, civil breakdown will ensue.
The Russians will march on Odessa in the south and Kiev in the north with little resistance.
Or … maybe Trump will just negotiate a peace instead.
But can he though?Having sent so many US forces to the region, and after so much boasting, and with the ‘TACO’ tag hanging round his neck, has he really got the courage to just … err, chicken out?

The Gulf states are running out of Patriot air defence interceptor missiles.
They have fired off 800 in 4 weeks - compared to Ukraine who have used 1000 … in 4 years.
Turns out that the Gulf states trained operators decided that when they saw an incoming attack they just switched the system to automatic mode and then scrambled into the shelters leaving the system to just get on with it, on auto they were often firing 7 or 8 $3 million missiles to try to take out 1 $50,000 Iranian drone.
Word is that an astonished US has just stopped listening to the Gulf states' constant urgent pleas for more missiles.
But Zelensky can smell a buck and is currently touring the middle east to sell the services of his anti drone experts who will teach how not to use auto mode.
But it’s not just the Gulf states and it’s not just air defence missiles that are becoming a serious war losing problem.
The US and Israel are also rapidly depleting their own stockpiles of all missile types, defence and attack, all of which have an ‘order to delivery’ timeframe measured in years not days.
The real problem is that the US makes very sophisticated missiles but in very small quantities. Nearly all of the US’s production rates of the different missile types are less than 100 a year.
That's fine for building up a stockpile but they have no capacity to increase it during a war. Same as the Europeans, they say they are increasing production but really they’re not, why is that? Whatever, I expect our globalist elite overlords know exactly what they're doing.
And back to Trump who still hasn't learnt that he doesn't have escalation dominance.
Immediately after Trump threatens to destroy all of Iran's electric power production the Iranians just go right ahead and destroy Kuwait’s main desalination plant that produces 30% of the country's water.
The Gulf really can't take much more of this Trump bullshit.
And speaking of not being able to take it, J D Vance the US vice president who has taken over negotiations is now saying that the US doesn't want to be in this conflict for more than a couple of weeks monthsYEARS.
If that's the case the world is going to be a very different place and not at all in any kind of a good way.

NO, NO, NO... The US is trapped, Iran won't let them go. It's not just a matter of signing a piece of paper and everyone leaves, no. Okay, abandoning Israel... that's nothing to them. Trump’s latest hollow threat on Truth Social is that he’s going to just walk away and leave the Straits closed so there, only once again, he just can’t.
Trump did not just shoot himself in the foot, he also drove a spike through it to pin himself to the spot. He can and is hopping off in any direction he likes but can’t get anywhere, he just spins around on the same spot.
How did he get here? Very easily, the geniuses in his admin know that the US has the greatest military in the world so when the Iranians threatened the shipping in the Gulf they said ‘send in the navy’.
The navy said fine, but how will you first mitigate the threat to us from Iran’s 27 - 32 under mountain missile bases? The geniuses said ‘... err’. So the navy said fine, but it won’t matter us being in the Straits because with the drone and missile threat still there then insurance companies won’t let the tankers move anyway. But he can’t, for decades the US has had a contract with the Gulf states, they buy US bonds in exchange for US military protection in what has always been a very volatile region of the world.
Even if the US doesn’t break that contract the Gulf states will need to sell off some of their trillions in US bonds to pay for damage repair. But if Trump walks away they will dump the lot in revenge and vow never to buy US again, the US bond market is already teetering and would be pushed over the edge,
The resulting crash will reverberate through the whole US economy for decades to come, walking away really is just not an option for Trump.
His only real option is *gulp* a negotiated surrender, his surrender. He will need to lift all sanctions and give cast iron guarantees not to attack Iran again.
The lifting of sanctions will be worth more than the tolls Iran could collect for shipping to use the Straits, the US can keep their destroyed bases and Iran will agree to end hostilities and open the Straits.
This has been the only play for weeks now, the fiery devil in the ointment is Trump’s rampant narcissism, it has a strangle hold over him and will never let him surrender.
It was all supposed to be so very different, there was to be a glorious Iranian surrender signing ceremony on the decks of the battleship Missouri with Trump looking splendid in a white Generalissimo military uniform decked out with yards of gold braid, a rainbow of ribbons and a half ton of medals, where did it all go wrong?
And to NATO, the clowns who call themselves the leaders of western European countries look to have sabotaged NATO to the point of wrecking it entirely and so, therefore, will be taking on the full cost of their own defence in future.
Earlier they paid lip service to agreeing to increasing defence spending to 5% of GDP (none of them moved a muscle) but now they will be forced to because Rubio is telling them that their decision not to allow US military flights over their respective countries is the final blow to the NATO partnership.
Rubio stopped short of announcing the US withdrawal from the organisation but it’s surely just weeks away if his current Euro tour does not bring a change in the Euro leader’s stance.

I believe they possess an even more dreadful recourse: the deployment of nuclear weapons to silence Iran and compel its submission under the threat of the country's complete physical annihilation.
This would parallel the Japanese scenario, where the decision was made against ground troop deployment, opting instead to subjugate Japan through nuclear force. So profound was this subjugation that the current head of Japan (whose name I cannot recall), during her recent visit to the US, laid flowers at the graves of the airmen who bombed civilian cities. Furthermore, in her public addresses, she frames her statements in such a way that, by implication, Russia (as the successor to the USSR) was responsible for dropping the bomb on them))). They are no longer mere vassals, but have become outright slaves.
