Initially the latest excursion into Russian territory by the Ukraine army looked like it might have been different but it wasn't. Same as Belgerod and Krinky it's just another publicity stunt where 300 Ukr troops have been sent to their deaths by Zelensky to keep him in the news cycle.

Meanwhile, Zelensky keeps trying to get NATO involved in the actual fighting because it was always his only hope. It's not going to happen.

Just as it would take Russia 3-5 years to build up capacity to invade NATO and such a build up would be obvious, there could be no hiding it. Same goes for NATO if they actually wanted to start a war with Russia.

NATO have not started any such build up and have no intension to because Russia isn't the threat to US hegemony, China is. And a war against China will not be a land based artillery war, it'll be a sea based naval war requiring completely different resources (which aren't actually being built up yet either btw).

Zelensky sent in another 700 to reinforce the original 300 Ukr troops and their excursion into Russia. Initially Russian air force stopped the advance and destroyed their vehicles (needed for retreat) and now Russian troops have arrived and are engaging. Russian military reports say 600 of the 1000 already 'destroyed'.

So another suicide mission attacking rural Russian civilians for a PR stunt and now Ukr have opened up a new front (when they can't even hold the ones they've already got) and Russia given the excuse to take more Ukr land as a 'buffer zone'.

Zelensky continues to reinforce the stalled Ukr offensive into the Russian Kursk region but to no avail as more and more Russian troops arrive in the area. Ukr has used a mix of elite troops and has stripped troops guarding the Belarus border for the operation that some commentators say was an attempt to capture the Kursk nuclear power station.

In one day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces broke through defensive fortifications worth more than 15 billion rubles, writes the Agency. These are fortifications that Russia built during the war.

A broken column in the Kursk region

Soldiers of the HUR cleared the raschits on Kinburnskaya Kose and on the gas tower

On August 9, special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine conducted a raid on the Russian-occupied Kinburn spit in the Mykolaiv region. There they destroyed six enemy armored vehicles and liquidated about 30 invaders.
The following night, August 10, Ukrainian soldiers defeated a gas tower captured by the Russians in the Black Sea, on which there were about 40 occupants and enemy reconnaissance equipment

The head of the German Bundestag's defense committee, Markus Faber, wished the Ukrainians success in their offensive against Putin's Russia:

"Dear friends, anyone who starts an aggressive war against a neighboring country turns their own territory into a war zone. Therefore, Ukraine's offensive against Kursk is completely legal and makes military sense. And it also shows the Russian population that the aggressive war waged by their dictator will affect them too, and not just the Ukrainians."
