In my opinion, Linux Zorin 17.1 would be the best option for those who want to switch OS and it's free.
It's compatible with MT4 and MT5.
The only thing you can't run is MS Office 365, but Zorin OS comes with LibreOffice wich is compatible with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Zorin 17.1 OS it's considered one of the best distros, and the easiest for windows users. I use the Pro version (only $48) and it's really amazing. No spying, no ads!
And you can run it in really old pc/laptops and bring them back to good use again.

I have only used Ubuntu 22 with MT4.
Do you have any experience with Ubuntu so to be able to compare it with Zorin or Mint or any other Linux flavour?

The only reason i use Windows is about MetaTrader with multi-installation, and in another computer to do another things using a ubuntu mate https://ubuntu-mate.org/.

About the another point is possible install Microsoft Office on linux, did you kown?
https://www.playonlinux.com/en/ is based on winehq and have some limitations, so for a complete experience suggest www.codeweavers.com

The second one is a trial available, but the price anual is not very high and works very well.

The question is not for me, but i reply. I have some experience with different Linux distro in different scenarios (like server, desktop, etc..) and let me share with you, my recommendations.

If you have concerns about security & privacy:
Pop!_OS https://pop.system76.com/
Qubes https://www.qubes-os.org/

If you are looking for an light version of Linux:
Ubuntu Mate is very good, but is very stable and consuming less resources https://ubuntu.com/desktop/flavours
Fedora https://fedoraproject.org/spins/

In the actual world, don“t think Windows vs Linux what is more or less secure, so for Linux after installation, make an audit of your system:
https://cisofy.com/lynis/

Choose the version with LTS because have more time support, and always choose a distro that is close to the main ones (for ex: Debian, RedHat, BSD) and has multi-lingual support communities, and that isn't dependent on a group of people who could abandon the project at any moment, which has happened to me in the past.

This post on MQL5.com seems to suggest that Linux Mint can handle multiple installations of MT5: https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/10114/pag ... t_53213411
