This indicator can be considered as an alternative to the well known RSI, Stochastic and DMI, as far as their methods of calculation based on Buyers and Sellers strengths. Despite of the enumerated indicators, the calculation is performed in points, not in a percentage. It gives a possibility to appreciate finer-grained market strengths and avoid such sufficient disadvantages as "stuck" in the strong trend for Stochastic.
In the given version of the indicator there is a possibility to build levels of Strength (Strength Level) and Weakness (Weakness Level) using three ways:
OverBought/OverSold levels (OverBought/OverSold),as in the RSI and Stochastic, regulated by StrengthLevel and WeaknessLevel parameters (for example, 80 and 20).
The channel of the standard deviations regulated by LookBackPeriod parameters and coefficients for the upper (UpperMultiplier) and lower (LowerMultiplier) bound of the channel.
High/Low Channel drawn on the principle of the price channel is regulated by the LookBackPeriod, StrengthLevel and WeaknessLevel parameters.

If the Semafor did not draw until after a second dot then there would be people saying it is too late and I wasn't ready. You are getting a good understanding of the system so you will be aware of what the dots and semafors do.normannasty wrote: Tue Nov 29, 2022 4:54 am Dear Xard, FourXXX, Contributors,
Is it a bad idea if the semaphor not draw the last big dot until it's not confirmed by a second a dot? If you look my picture you can see because of this I missed 3 nice upward movement. Is it possible? To draw a temporary dot instead of the large dot, the last large dot. In that case its only appear when its confirmed and the road is confirmed in the given direction. Is it a wrong idea?
sorry guys can you explane me what mean when you say that the price cross the trend line ? which trendline ? sorryFourXXXX wrote: Tue Nov 29, 2022 7:12 am If the Semafor did not draw until after a second dot then there would be people saying it is too late and I wasn't ready. I don't think the Square would have appeared in the first 3 locations, I would expect to see first a dot with a white circle then the pink dot. Try running your simulation again and see.
In the image, I have shown where I would take buy entries in green and sells in red. The rectangles with the price in them are all second dots shown by the triangles indicator. Another important point is to look at how the dots show the trend, higher green dots the trend is up, Lower red dots the trend is down. Then you have the dots with white circles doing the same higher green trend up, lower red trend down. Same applies to the pink dots, there is lots of possible trades there. I have seen the large pink dot keep moving higher for over 3 weeks, I am sure there would be times it could be longer. If the chart tells you the trend is up take the buy signals. If the dots start to appear at closer price levels then you have a very good indication that the trend is running out of steam and all the possible buyers have bought. The chart you have shown is looking like the up trend is at or close to the end as the new tops are not much higher than the previous tops. It is basic price action which can be seen even with no indicators, the market will move quicker in the direction it wants to go and more slowly when it does not want to go that way.
Others may trade it differently, I am showing how I would trade it, we are all different. Trading is about probability, you take signals that from experience you think has a good chance of making a profit.
XARD: The same logic would have to apply to the Square, the Pink Dot, and the White Dot... oh WAIT!!! it does, that is why we WAIT!!! for the 2nd Dot to appear and PRICE to cross the Trend line. Who knew? This could be a game changer.
XXXX: LOL We know who knew all along.
Heres a clue.Giangyforex wrote: Tue Nov 29, 2022 7:03 pm sorry guys can you explane me what mean when you say that the price cross the trend line ? which trendline ? sorry![]()
The 2 MA's, the 2 lines that change color, or simply put the ribbons get blue (buying) and red (selling)Giangyforex wrote: Tue Nov 29, 2022 7:03 pm sorry guys can you explane me what mean when you say that the price cross the trend line ? which trendline ? sorry![]()
