Trump threatening to blow entire countries ‘off the face of the earth’ is dementia level demented.
The latest outburst was a result of Trump's bluff being called, again, and for some strange reason Trump wasn't expecting it, again. And now he's mad as hell.
In the face of Trump threats Iran set light to a UAE oil storage facility to show Trump they would happily break the ceasefire anytime the US threatened, no worries.
In response all the US military could do was follow Trump's example and just make shit up.
The reality is that Trump’s ‘Project Freedom’ to send the US navy to escort ships (again), and turned into a chicken-out ‘call centre’ where shipping could call up the US navy and be told which were the safe shipping lanes through the Straits.
Ship owners came to the conclusion there were no safe lanes and so didn’t bother and the ships stayed where they were, except for an intrepid few who were immediately set alight.
The bottom line is that Iran is still in full control of the Straits and there is nothing Trump can do about it, which is why he's as mad as hell.
And so, there’s no shipping getting through the Straits without Iranian permission:
The price of oil continues to rise.
US weapons stockpiles are so low they have stopped shipments to Europe (therefore also to Ukraine).
And European and UK airlines are warning of imminent major disruption due to the critical shortage of jet fuel.
Trump is getting crushed into the corner he's painted himself into and is squealing like a stuck pig.
His own demented ego will let him watch the world burn before he admits defeat.
And so after another disaster of a weekend it looks like being another ‘Trump taco Tuesday’. Trump will need to perform his now customary start the week climb down to try to keep the lid on oil prices.
At some point even a demented idiot would have to get tired of this repeated routine week after week.
Trump has in such a short time managed to severely damage global confidence in the US and demolish the ‘US pacifier effect’ in the Gulf, Asia, Europe, and OPEC as well, leaving them all far more uncertain and prone to future conflict, and all the while speeding up the decline of US hegemony.
In his own cack handed way Trump is bringing multipolar geopolitics to the world.

2263Trump Taco Tuesday again as he withdraws his offer of the US navy to escort tankers through the Gulf.
Oddly enough the only people on the planet who didn’t see that coming were oil traders. Up the markets went and back down they came again.
Trump now tells us that Project Freedom is over because of great progress being made in the peace talks (again), that mirror on the wall must be getting worn out by now.
Trump cited "great progress" toward a "complete and final agreement" with Iran - how many times have we heard this only to find there were no talks at all.
As to peace proposals the Iranian plan remains unchanged while the US has abandoned all it’s goals and are now solely concerned with getting the Straits open as they were before the US attacked Iran and started to war.
So as of May 6th ‘combat operations’ by the US are officially over. Now we have not one but two blockades of the Straits going on.
The Iranian blockade is of the actual Straits and the US blockade of 17 ships 700 miles away wandering around in the Arabian Sea.
One is an effective blockade and the other is a pantomime.
Shipping transits are down from a pre-war average of 138 a day to just 5 or 6, all of whom are of nations friendly to Iran though that doesn’t stop Trump claiming their transiting is due to the US escort.
Now the US is ‘gifting to the world’ according to the Hegseth, the deployment of an ‘air defence dome’ over the Straits, not that any aircraft were flying over anyway, and it’s certainly not stopping missiles, UAE can attest to that having been hit twice in the last 24 hours.
The problem for the US military is that you can’t be seen to be spending a billion a day doing nothing, the bigger problem is that there’s nothing the US military can actually do, besides ‘gifting’ bullshit to the world that is.
Hegseth, having nothing to offer is now following Trump’s lead and just making shit up for the look of the thing.
Meanwhile prices are rising, fuel stocks have run dry, and supply chains are collapsing across the globe.
The next big embarrassment coming up is that Trump is still expected to visit China immediately after the Iranians who will be there to discuss Chinese assistance to Iran in the war against - Trump.
Get the popcorn ready.

2265“Iran will submit, we won” says Trump.
Read; We submit, Iran won.
According to the news agency Axios, the US has handed Iran, via Pakistan intermediaries, a single page peace proposal.
It’s reported the proposal says that if Iran agrees to unblock the Straits and agrees to stop uranium enrichment for a limited period then the US will release Iranian frozen assets, end primary sanctions, and start discussions on a long term peace deal.
So basically a surrender by the US but which is accompanied with a threat that if Iran doesn't accept the US surrender then there would be more bombing, so there.
Iran may reply today with some amendments but is basically getting what it wants if the proposal is as reported.
Although, Trump had a late meeting with Netanyahu and we all know how easy it is to suddenly turn Trump’s head, wait and see.
"Operation Epic Fury" Is Over: Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared the offensive phase of the war finished, stating that its original objectives have been achieved.
Those original objectives:
Regime change
Hand over all nuclear material
Destroy missile stocks and missile making capability
Dismantle proxies
Liberate the Iranian people OR bomb them off the face of the planet (whichever comes first)
And further breaking up of US allies as Saudi and Kuwait stop US use of bases on their territory which turned out to be of no value to the Gulf states after all and in fact just act as Iranian missile magnets.
Jet fuel prices are up 50% according to western airlines so rationing by price rises are imminent followed by rationing by actual shortages inevitable.
Back to Ukraine and Putin announced a unilateral ceasefire for the Russian Victory (WW2) Day holiday and parade on May 9th. The Ukrainians threatened to drone attack it, so Putin threatened Oreshnik missile strikes directly on Kiev central if they did.
And Trump trip to China in 7 days, the original date was a month ago but postponed because of the err, Iran war. Can he get it buttoned down within a week?
Market analysis Oil, Gold and USD with regards to the Iran war video below points out that in times of strife both gold and the USD are considered safe havens but as gold is priced in USD, you may not necessarily see gold move relative, but that as gold is the safer, longer term store the real value of gold might not be obvious until USD declines as the crisis resolves.

Re: WW3 Countdown
2268Trump torpedoes his own peace deal. While awaiting Iran's response to his peace proposal Trump decided what a great Idea it would be to chivvy things along by sending a couple of navy destroyers through the closed Gulf.
To absolutely no one's surprise but Trump, the Iranians missile attacked the ships and so of course the US missile attacked Iran.
And so, as the Iranians have said, we’re back to square one - again.
No one really knows what Trump actually wants other than to surrender without being seen to surrender and all the while the world sinks closer and closer to a decade long global depression and famine.
The US of course claimed the Iranian missiles were not a problem and that their own missiles did tremendous damage to Iran.
In which case we will now see US navy ships entering the Straits en masse - except that of course we won’t, because the US is lying, as usual.
The US tried to get through the Straits as a test and the Iranians attacked as they always said they would.
The only one surprised by this is Trump, I’ve lost count as to the number of times Trump has completely mis-read the situation.
The Biden, Sullivan, Blinken team was perhaps the most inept players of international geopolitics in US history but the Trump team is knocking it out of the park.
Trump ‘the Iran war is worth gas at $8 a gallon’, Rubio ‘we’ve already achieved all our goals’ having actually achieved none, and Hegseth ‘we are gifting the world an air defence dome over the Straits’ that clearly does nothing at all.
These guys are beyond a joke and are causing chaos on a global scale.
It’s clearly going to be up to China and Russia to get together and save us from this never ending Trumpian mass famine causing catastrophe.

Re: WW3 Countdown
2269US Intel agencies are getting real mad at Trump which is why they leaked the report that, contrary to the White House messaging the Iranians were out of missiles, that in actual fact Iran still had over 70% of its missile and launcher capability.
Also recently leaked by US Intel were satellite pictures of the true extent of the damage done to the US military bases in the Gulf. The damage done was obviously severe and not minor as the White House originally claimed.
So now the White House is furious with US Intel, on top of that Trump has gone back to making threats of a ‘nuke you’ nature against Iran talking about making ‘a big glow’.
Trump famously said many months ago that he didn't bother with Intel briefings and it shows, instead the Pentagon puts together for him a 5 minute video of the latest war porn footage, lots of explosions and stuff.
Also of interest was ex Intel chief Joe Kent's revelation that US Intel years ago had war gamed Iran's response to an attack as being the closing of the Straits and Iran won every war scenario played out from that point on.
But Trump’s not paid to listen to US Intel agencies, he's paid to listen to Israeli Intel agencies.
There remains confusion as to exactly what happened to cause the recent exchange of fire but I believe I was basically correct. Trump was testing Iran's conviction and ability to respond to the US navy attempting to run the Iranian blockade.
The fact that he decided to do it in the middle of what looked like possibly successful peace negotiations was probably down to the Israelis.
If the Israelis can be kept at bay a deal is actually very close. The final sticking point is Iranian nuclear refinement, the US says never, the Iranians say we will.
As the Iranians have 7 years worth stored the compromise is no processing for 5 or 10 years.
The executive sanctions can come off immediately bringing reintegration and money flow to Iran and so the Straits can be reopened as before under a ceasefire.
And from there a new regional peace deal can be worked out while the US bases issue is no longer important (they were a failure),
Meanwhile the rest of the world can go hang, the US is fine living off reserves, crisis, what crisis? Trump still has a month to sort out a deal so no worries.
Meanwhile Part 2, the Red Sea is still actually closed, the Houthis won and Trump ran away. Oil does still transit but only oil that’s going to China.
And following the Covid shut downs and the decreased oil demand it took up to 2 years to get production back up and running normally according to oil experts, and that was without all the war damage.
So expect these oil prices to be with us for years to come unless things get worse, in which case $200 a barrel is coming.
