1502So, OIL seems to be real reason. (for the USA)
e. I think I saw somewhere that China is buying 40% of Iranian oil, so that "weakens" China too, if USA can change Iranian government.

1506Best news of the decade. Without being dramatic, this was starting to look bad like a very bad situation especially with Pakistan and Russia willing to provide nukes. I hope this is the first step to peace

Re: WW3 Countdown
1508Trump thinks he has organised a temporary ceasefire in the middle east hours after bombing one of the co-belligerents, maybe he has. He deliberately gave Iran a couple of hours grace to get a final shot in (one last missile attack on Israel).
Trump demanding a ceasefire is a long way short of the UNCONDTIONAL SURRENDER Trump was demanding just a few days ago. Perhaps Iran's threat to close the oil shipping lanes might have brought about the sudden change in Trump's attitude.
One thing is certain and that's Trump's growing reputation as a bullshitter could be the cause of some serious miscalculations in international relations further down the line if other parties just don't know what's true or not.
We will have to wait and see if the ceasefire a) lasts (they don't usually in the region) and b) can it really be turned into a long-term peace treaty.
We wait to see if both sides actually want an end to the conflict.
There is still serious doubt that the US bombing achieved it's aim, it is said the Iranians moved all the important nuclear stuff out well before any strike.
It is important to note that as far as the international inspection teams were concerned the Iranian programme remained concentrated on the aim of producing nuclear power rather than bombs.
It remains to be seen if Israel are satisfied, no one seems quite sure what their original goals were, destruction of the nuclear programme, destruction of the current Iranian leadership, or destruction of the entire country? But it would seem the current state of affairs is not it.
It also remains to be seen if the Iranians are satisfied.
Interestingly some commentators are suggesting that the Israeli air defence is no longer viable and they needed a halt, and so the US attacked Iran, but just for show (they saw the loaded trucks take the important stuff away before the attack) and so the Iranian response attack on the US airbase was also just for show (Trump thanked them for being so reasonable). And so now everyone can back off with no loss of face.
While most commentators were looking east Ukraine have continued their retreat on the battlefronts while their cities have come under increased and persistent attack of military targets contained within.
Ukraine clearly has next to no air defence left anymore, not even for Kiev.
If Trump's ceasefire in the middle east is successful he may well restart pressure on Putin to follow suit, but with Russia so close to an all out victory it is not likely to happen unless Zelensky agrees to Putin's terms and there's not much likelihood of that, it would spell the end of Zelensky, literally, if the Ukrainian nationalists follow up on their threats.

1509LIVE : Jeffrey Sachs EXPOSES BIG Hidden Truth Against Israel, Iran And US | US News | N18G
Streamed live on May 28, 2025: The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs has launched a scathing critique of U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, placing the blame squarely on Washington’s alliance with Israel’s far-right leadership. Speaking at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Sachs claimed that American interference—encouraged by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—has devastated the region. He cited covert operations like the CIA’s Timber Sycamore as catalysts behind the Syrian civil war and accused Israel of pushing for armed conflict with Iran after having allegedly promoted six previous wars.
