💱 Swap-free accounts: What is the cost?

1
Hi

Im interested in swap free accounts, because i've noticed that if you let orders opened during a long time, fees can bee through the roof

hence i'm currently interested in swap free accounts.

but what is the costs exactly ? is it just a bigger spread ? or a bigger commission ?

I want to know if we still have to pay something on the long term or if it's just one time fee per order

thanks

Jeff

You'll pay an overnight holding fee using a swap-free account with most brokers.

For example with IC Markets, the overnight holding fee on swap-free and Islamic accounts is:
  • AUDUSD $2 (US per lot)
  • EURUSD $3 (US per lot)
  • GBPUSD $2 (US per lot)
  • USDCAD $7 (US per lot)
  • USDCHF $3 (US per lot)
  • USDJPY $9 (US per lot)

That's a shit deal... no swap should mean no overnight holding fee and just bigger spread 👎👎👎

shit what are we supposed to do when we have a grid type of robot and it keeps orders opened long time ??? that's a nightmare, there is ALWAYS something to prevent us from making profits, being the spread too high, or so)

I found this on Exness tho:
Standard swap-free will have no swap applied for orders open overnight for these instrument groups:

Most cryptocurrencies (excludes BTC crosses: BTCXAU, BTCXAG, BTCTHB, BTCAUD, BTCCNH, BTCZAR, BTCJPY)
so cryptos seem to be swap free, which is good news. I just wished FX would do the same. In what era are we living than we just can't trade simply

On FxPro, the expanded symbols (Futures) have no swap charge, they do however have expiry date that ranges from 1 to 3 months. So instead of trading Gold for example and be charged swap, you can trade its future equivalent. The spread is only very slightly higher (in relation to the "normal" symbol - 4 instead of average of 3), no other charges apply. I would say however that FxPro spreads are on the high side - well you can't have everything.

I would love to see other brokers equivalent symbols with no swap charged (these have to be futures I guess) if anybody can share.

XM is strong !!!
The XM forex Islamic accounts differ greatly from those generally offered by other forex brokers. The difference lies in the fact that unlike most forex companies who substitute additional fees by widening the spread on Islamic accounts, XM imposes no additional charges.

In order to abide by the religious law of Islam, traders of Islamic faith are forbidden to pay interest. However, if the interest charge is transferred to a different type of fee, it is basically still a charge that covers the interest. This is also known by the name of swap-free in disguise. XM is firmly against such practices as it opposes fair and ethical trading conditions.
