platforms like this might look like a total degen gambling site to some, but tbh the fact that they’ve got solid APIs and order book structures makes it a sick sandbox for automated trading bots. at the end of the day, whether u're running manual discretionary or full algos, the core hustle is no different from any other market—just data-crunching real-time probability shifts and hacking the edge. once u write the scripts, backtest the logic, and strip out all the noise to extract a clean statistical advantage, u just let the hard data do the talkin.

Interesting thread. One thing that stands out is that a prediction market price is basically an implied probability, so a contract at $0.30 means the market sees roughly a 30% chance. That makes it a useful sentiment gauge even if you never trade it, for example checking how likely the market thinks a rate cut is before a central bank meeting and comparing it with what is priced into the currency.

The big differences from forex are that the payoff is binary (the contract settles at $1 or $0), liquidity can be thin outside the big events, and there is no leverage or swap, so position sizing works very differently. For me it is a complement to the economic calendar rather than a replacement for trading the market itself.
