I was feeling great and well-rested after my vacation when I immediately tried a crazy idea—the Pitchfork tool—and it was a total fiasco... My first thought after a quick backtest was that the Pitchfork repaints (so I was ready to scrap it)—check out the quick video... but then I let it run live, and it does a beautiful job of guiding and nudging the price (reacting instantly to reversals)... In slow-paced live trading, it makes sense—though in a fast backtest, I would have dismissed it... The second crazy experiment was the "Vertex" indicator—which isn't quite as precise now as it was when it used to repaint (look at the arrows)—but it does feature beautifully accurate divergence arrows (cyan/magenta squares).

Hi everyone, today I came across an email regarding the Vertex indicator. A gentleman wrote to me saying it’s impossible to make this indicator non-repainting (NRP)—that he had tried many times without success. And he’s right; the indicator is poorly designed, so it won't work without rewriting the entire startup sequence. However, you can always get as close as possible to the maximum—roughly 99.7% to 99.9%. We have to realize that it is an oscillator, and a 100% non-repainting version simply doesn't exist! Why? Because if the broker can't keep up, data overwriting occurs, and every indicator reacts to that—which is why 100% isn't possible. Regarding the index—using index 1 instead of the current 0 yields 97% NRP (provided the logic is sound, though in the standard Vertex, it isn't). A robust snapshot method can achieve 99.7%–99.9%; I use my own locking code, but I had to rewrite the entire startup routine. Image 1 shows the Vertex with 97% NRP, while the second shows the locked version with 99.7% NRP.

Hey everyone, I was looking for photos on my old laptop while grilling today and stumbled upon a folder—a Christmas gift for the FS community... I remember wanting to release it, but it didn't work out (I had hand surgery before Christmas and was out of commission for three months)... So, once I have some time, I'll check the code for the English version and post it here... though time is scarce right now since the kids are on break

Hi pucmola, could you share the core logic/math used to achieve 97% nrp and 99.7%-99.9%? If it's not much trouble.

I have worked with Vertex code for weeks but couldn't find a way to achieve that and later saved it for someday...
