Relative Currency Momentum (RCM)
Simple Settings Guide

Beginner note: In a pair like EURUSD, EUR is the base currency and USD is the quote currency.

📏 Indicator Window Levels
  • Level 1 — First guide level shown in the indicator window. This is for visual reference only.
  • Level 2 — Second guide level shown in the indicator window. This is for visual reference only.
  • These levels help you judge whether momentum is mild or strong, but they do not change the core calculation by themselves.

🖥️ Display Mode
  • Display Mode — Chooses how RCM looks on the chart:
    • Currency Lines = the original line-based view
      • Pros: easy to compare both currencies directly, cleaner for crossover reading
      • Cons: can look a bit less visual than Waves mode
    • Waves = a more visual wave-style strength view
      • Pros: easier to read strength at a glance, more visual separation between bullish, bearish, and neutral conditions
      • Cons: can look busier than Currency Lines mode

📈 Currency Lines Mode
  • Momentum Bars Thickness — Makes the momentum bars thinner or thicker in Currency Lines mode
  • Base Momentum Bar Color — Color of the base currency momentum bars in Currency Lines mode
  • Quote Momentum Bar Color — Color of the quote currency momentum bars in Currency Lines mode
  • Currency Lines Thickness — Makes the main lines thinner or thicker
  • Base Currency Line Color — Color of the base currency line
  • Quote Currency Line Color — Color of the quote currency line

🌊 Waves Mode
  • Momentum Bars Thickness — Makes the momentum bars thinner or thicker in Waves mode
  • Base Momentum Bar Color — Color of the base currency momentum bars in Waves mode
  • Quote Momentum Bar Color — Color of the quote currency momentum bars in Waves mode
  • Waves Thickness — Makes the wave display thinner or thicker
  • Wave Strength Level 1 — First strength threshold used for the wave display
  • Wave Strength Level 2 — Higher strength threshold used for stronger wave moves
  • Bull Wave Color — Color for bullish waves
  • Strong Bull Wave Color — Color for stronger bullish waves
  • Neutral Wave Color — Color when the market is more balanced / neutral
  • Bear Wave Color — Color for bearish waves
  • Strong Bear Wave Color — Color for stronger bearish waves
  • In Repainting mode, the wave display can separate normal and strong wave conditions more clearly.
  • In Non-Repainting mode, the wave display is more fixed and simplified because it does not need the extra wide separation used by the repainting version. That means when the two sides cross, it is a real confirmed cross, not a shape that may still shift while the candle is forming.

🏷️ Momentum Score Labels
  • Show Momentum Scores on Chart — Shows or hides the live score numbers on the chart
  • Score Font — Font used for those labels
  • Score Font Size — Makes the label text smaller or bigger
  • Currency Names X Offset — Moves the currency names left or right
  • Score Values X Offset — Moves the score numbers left or right
  • Top Row Y Offset — Moves the top label row up or down
  • Bottom Row Y Offset — Moves the bottom label row up or down

🎯 Fibo Targets
  • Show Fibo Targets (M1-H1 Only) — Shows or hides the fibo target lines on lower timeframes
  • Show Target Labels and Prices — Shows or hides the target names and prices
  • Highlight Closest Targets Only — Emphasizes the side that is currently more relevant and fades the less relevant side
  • Buy Targets Color — Color of buy target lines
  • Sell Targets Color — Color of sell target lines

📊 MTF Strength Panel
  • Show MTF Strength Panel — Shows or hides the multi-timeframe panel
  • Score Decimal Formatting — Chooses how many decimal places are shown:
    • 0 Decimals = cleanest and simplest look
      • Pros: easiest to read quickly
      • Cons: less detail
    • 1 Decimal = balanced detail and readability
      • Pros: good middle ground
      • Cons: slightly more visual clutter than 0 decimals
    • 2 Decimals = most detailed view
      • Pros: most precise read
      • Cons: can look busier
  • Timeframe 1 — First timeframe in the panel
  • Timeframe 2 — Second timeframe in the panel
  • Timeframe 3 — Third timeframe in the panel
  • Timeframe 4 — Fourth timeframe in the panel
  • Score Threshold for Color Change — How strong a score must be before its color changes
    • Lower values = colors change sooner
    • Higher values = colors stay neutral longer and only highlight stronger readings
  • MTF Panel Refresh Interval (ms) — Controls how often the MTF panel checks for new values
    • Lower values = faster and more responsive panel updates
    • Cons: slightly higher CPU usage
    • Higher values = lighter CPU usage
    • Cons: slower panel updates
  • Panel Corner — Chooses which corner the panel appears in
  • Panel X Offset — Moves the panel left or right
  • Panel Y Offset — Moves the panel up or down
  • Panel Font — Font used inside the panel
  • Panel Font Size — Text size inside the panel
  • Panel Border Color — Border color of the panel
  • Panel Background Color — Background color of the panel
  • The panel also shows an overall Bullish, Bearish, or Neutral bias based on the selected timeframes.

⚙️ Advanced Engine Settings
  • Repainting or Non-Repainting — Chooses how the lines behave:
    • Repainting = smoother live movement and more reactive display
      • Pros: more fluid, more visually expressive, better for live movement
      • Cons: past line shape can still adjust
    • Non-Repainting = more fixed and safer for confirmed reading
      • Pros: more stable, better for users who want confirmed signals
      • Cons: less smooth and a bit less reactive
  • Maximum Historical Bars to Calculate — How much past chart data the indicator uses
    • Higher values = more chart history available
    • Cons: slightly heavier processing
    • Lower values = lighter processing
    • Cons: less historical data on the chart

🔔 Alerts
  • Alert Trigger Mode — Chooses when alerts happen:
    • Current Candle = alerts can trigger during the candle while price is still moving
      • Pros: faster alerts
      • Cons: more sensitive, can be less stable before candle close
    • Closed Candle = alerts only trigger after the candle closes
      • Pros: more confirmed and stable alerts
      • Cons: slower than Current Candle mode
  • Currency Lines Cross — Alerts when the 2 Currency Lines cross. This usually means momentum may be shifting from one currency to the other.
  • Momentum Bar Hits Alert Level 1 — Enables the first momentum alert. This can help spot a pullback, which means a temporary counter-move against the current Currency Lines direction.
  • Alert Level 1 — Sets the first momentum level. Example: if set to 20, the alert triggers when a momentum bar reaches 20 or -20.
  • Momentum Bar Hits Alert Level 2 — Enables the second momentum alert. This can help spot a deeper pullback, meaning a stronger temporary counter-move against the current Currency Lines direction.
  • Alert Level 2 — Sets the second momentum level. Example: if set to 50, the alert triggers when a momentum bar reaches 50 or -50.
  • Currency Lines hit Line Level 1 — Alerts when the Currency Lines reach the first strength level.
  • Line Alert Level 1 — Sets the first strength level.
  • Currency Lines hit Line Level 2 — Alerts when the Currency Lines reach the second, stronger level.
  • Line Alert Level 2 — Sets the second strength level.
  • Enable Popup Alert — Shows an MT4 popup message
  • Enable Email Alert — Sends an email
  • Enable Push Alert — Sends a phone notification
  • Note: in Waves + Repainting mode, line-level alerts behave more like wave strength alerts.

🧩 Multi-Instance
  • Instance ID — Use a different ID if you want to run more than one copy of RCM on the same chart

📝 Quick Tips
  • Use Currency Lines if you want the original line-based look
  • Use Waves if you want a more visual read of strength
  • Use Non-Repainting if you prefer more stable confirmed signals
  • Use the MTF panel if you want a quick multi-timeframe summary plus overall bias
  • Use a lower MTF refresh interval for faster panel updates, or a higher value for lighter CPU usage
  • Use Fibo targets on lower timeframes only

I think this is already covered by the current Momentum Bar alerts. I updated my post above to explain it more clearly.

Example for EURUSD:
  1. EUR line above USD line = bullish trend / buy direction
  2. Red momentum bar drops into -50 or lower = pullback alert
(That pullback level can be set with Alert Level 1 and/or Alert Level 2)
So if this is what you mean, the indicator already does it.

Yes, your settings are correct.

Example:

BUY pullback
  • EUR above USD = buy trend
  • Red bar reaches -40 = first pullback alert
  • Red bar reaches -50 = second, deeper pullback alert
SELL pullback
  • EUR below USD = sell trend
  • Green bar reaches +40 = first pullback alert
  • Green bar reaches +50 = second, deeper pullback alert
Note:
Using -40 and -50 is okay and will still work.

But you do not need to type the minus sign.
You can simply enter 40 and 50, because the indicator automatically uses the correct side.
