It has slowly become clear what most likely happened at the recent peace talks and why it all went wrong.
The biggest clue came in Zelensky's interview immediately after when he broke down into a swearing rant criticising everyone involved.
Zelensky was apparently incredulous that the Russians made no concessions at all. He was expecting them because the Americans said they were about to.
The Americans thought this because they've been hooked on their own koolaid for the last 4 years.
They really do believe the Russian economy is about to collapse and they are nearly out of men and they are desperate to end the war and are just talking tough.
You really can't trust the Russians after all, and you can't believe a word Putin says.
And when Witkoff puts a deal to Putin and Putin says we can talk about it what he really means is thank God you're giving us a way out.
And so when at the negotiations the Russians give way on nothing at all, there's complete shock.
You see, when you really, really want to believe, you should never let reality stand in your way, that’s how we do it in the NY real estate business..
So no one is sure what comes next, Trump has his hands full with Iran and needs this Ukraine business over and done with, his only option is to say to the Europeans it’s your show now and good luck with it.
No doubt the CIA will continue to target Russia with whatever missiles they can scrap together and continue to supply intel, but the real effort from the US has already been diverted to the Iranian theatre.
And no one’s sure what’s going to happen there either. I suspect Trump will pull back again not really wanting a war but needing to do enough to keep the neocons onside or he risks another assassination attempt.
On the battlefronts everything is starting to point to Zaporozhia as being the focal point of upcoming operations in the Spring. If the Russians capture Zap city then the road to Odessa is open. Zelensky is claiming Ukraine forces have taken back 300 sq km in the region in their recent counter attacks but Ukrainian maps can’t show that because they never acknowledged Russia had captured it in the first place.

Still relatively slow movement in the build up the Spring offensive in the Ukraine conflict. The Ukrainians talk of big gains in the counter attack in eastern Zaporozhia but absolutely zero video evidence to back up any claims.
This is remarkable because the AFU has been pouring men into the region for close to a month now and they are usually very quick on the PR front and usually make many videos of any gains if they can.
Ukraine are also launching large drone attacks on Russia, up to 400 last night, but nearly all were small decoy drones to deplete Russian air defences for a much smaller attack with bigger drones on oil installations a few hours after. There were reports of damage done to 2 refineries.
Videos released by the Russians show Russian troops patrolling in the center of the city of Kupiansk which means that the Russians now control all but the south west sector. That’s a complete reversal after the Ukrainian counter attack started at the end of last year.
It was reported that Ukrainian troops from that area were diverted for the Zaporozhia attack that is currently underway and indicates that the AFU are only able to attack in one area at a time while the Russians are able to push right across the frontline.
The latest word is that Trump has delayed the expected attack on Iran, as I mentioned previously I don’t think Trump really wanted to start a war and he was being pushed into it by the neocons. More likely now that he will do the same as the last time, avoid a war by staging a limited strike, claim a victory and then pack up his fleet and go home.
This of course will not satisfy the neocons or the Israelis so expect the whole cycle to restart again soon.
