Trump finally makes a move after a full year of misjudgement of the Ukraine conflict.

Zelensky has announced Trump has placed a deadline of June of this year for the conflict to end. But the fact that Zelensky is shouting this means he thinks Trump is about to force Putin to do something and he would think this because Zelensky has not had his head in reality for a very long time.

Zelensky probably doesn’t realise that even Trump must know by now that there is no pressure he can put on Russia, he can however put a lot of pressure on Ukraine and western Europe.

So even though Zelensky is announcing this news it can’t bode well for him or Ukraine. June could see the end of US involvement in the conflict. There was a partial pullout several months ago when Trump stopped US money to Ukraine.

But now we could see part 2 of that pullout with no more US intel, US satellite intel, and no more equipment including missile deliveries.

It is true that the CIA, as a rogue agency, works outside of US governmental and does get some stuff shipped to Ukraine even after Trump has supposedly shut it down, as they did in the past when Trump stopped deliveries for 2 weeks.

And it’s true that congress might still vote occasional packages of cash through but they are minor and certainly not the billions actually needed.

Reminder also that the Europeans still haven’t come up with the €90 Billion for Ukraine they were supposed to provide following the US pullout part 1. The Europeans don’t have the money, can’t borrow the money, and can’t come up with a scheme that can entice investors to stump up the money.

The cause looks lost because issuing bonds to raise the money is based on everyone thinking Russia will lose and be forced to pay reparations, it seems that no one actually believes that anymore.

Without billions being delivered soon Ukraine will collapse into a major humanitarian disaster. The end of March has been previously cited for the collapse of the government due to lack of funds.

Meanwhile the Russians continue the destruction of Ukraine's power plants and have started on the sub-stations joining the nuclear power stations to the national grid. Also under attack are the sub-stations linking other European countries. It would seem a total power shutdown of the whole country is coming.

The Russians have started using their biggest missiles designed to sink US aircraft carriers to totally destroy Ukraine’s non nuclear power plants so that any repairs are impossible.

And the peace talks look to be in jeopardy again, this time due to the Ukrainians attempting to assassinate the Russian peace delegates.

Ho ho that Zelensky, he’s really not going to let anything stand between him and that hoped for €90 billion is he.

Ho ho, turns out that discussions between Witkoff and Jared and the Russians were about trade deals and not peace deals this whole time.

Russia and the US are lining up a $12 trillion deal covering years of integration and partnership.

Peace in Ukraine will occur whenever Zelensky is ready for it. But Zelensky says peace is determined on getting his security guarantee demands which he was already told is not going to happen.

And on cash payments stretching long into the future, also that he can't get anyone to promise to give.

So, like the sulking child, he keeps throwing his toys into the grinder until he hopefully gets what he wants.

But the adults have already moved on, deals to make, other conflicts to start and profit from.

Zelensky is trapped, he is totally dependent on others getting him out of a hole but they’re quite content, for their own ends, to see him stuck in it.

And all the while the Russians continue to achieve their goals - permanently, on the battlefield.


And Russian foreign minister Lavrov in his latest interview talks about the US and the Europeans constant attempts to escalate the conflict. In all fairness I don’t think Trump actually has much control over the US effort in the war.

When Trump ordered a stop on shipments to Ukraine 6 or so months ago to put pressure on Zelensky to come to a deal the CIA happily ignored it and Zelensky even boasted shipments were arriving as usual. Also, Trump was surprised to hear of the drone attack on Putin’s residence a few weeks ago, that attack could only have been carried out with US assistance. And immediately after the assassination attempt on the Russian general a few days ago Russia's first response was to missile attack a British intelligence cyber operation based in Odessa.

One observable trend is that the world’s attention is being drawn elsewhere, Iran, South America, meanwhile in the Ukraine conflict commentators are saying Russia is preparing to take the June 2024 deal off the table and replace it with a new offer that they will stop if Ukraine hands over 8 oblasts instead of the current 4.

So the only one who can end this disaster for Ukraine is Zelensky and the longer he holds out the worse the terms will be, meanwhile the US and European hawks keep cheering him on, they’ve got nothing to lose after all.

Zelensky should consider that none of these hawks will ever be in a position to aid Ukraine once the conflict is over and the current bunch of western leaders will have been turned over and gone for good.
