True enough but he's not a politician, rather a state department technocrat. So he has no political base, and being a technocrat probably doesn't have the personality to attract one any time soon.

It's either going to be Newsom or some democrat state governor unknown to most but therefore also untarnished. Hillary's name has popped up but can't see that happening really.

Hillaria already lost the election to Trump 8 years ago, so it rather wouldn't be a good idea...
Biden will probably stay, as it's too late to change, especially to someone unknown;
everyone knows that it is mainly the administration that rules.
