That's correct, but the number may vary from case to case.
The number of demilitarized persons is also important,
which tends to zero for the region of Ukraine
(not counting the dead and wounded).

Actually, there is no reason to believe official data that is fueled by war propaganda.
Mediazona is not Russian govt data, it's data collated by the BBC and partners. They actually look for evidence instead of just reprinting Ukraine figures with no attempt to substantiate as does the western press and politicians.wojtek wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2024 1:32 pm Actually, there is no reason to believe official data that is fueled by war propaganda.
But nevertheless, the official number about 50.000 of Russian soldiers killed is interesting.
It is worth comparing it with the official number of losses during the intervention in Afghanistan
in the years 1979-1989, which is approximately 14.500 of Soviet soldiers dead.
This gives a comparison of how intense the war in Ukraine is. Note that the intervention
in Afghanistan is considered one of the causes of the collapse of the USSR.
And here is another independent analysis:Ogee wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2024 5:07 pm Mediazona is not Russian govt data, it's data collated by the BBC and partners.

Still not enough so this is likely to be just the start, the army stated the need was for 500,000 'replacements';
