🛑 No Hashes or Percentage signs in your filenames please!

After the whole virus catastrophe of 2023, we listened to members and built a live malware and virus scanner into our back end.

The catch is, it stops file uploads with names that contain hashes # and percentage signs % in them.

For example:

• #RSI.mq4
• Screenshot%.png

It's an aggressive scanner which uses definitions from VirusTotal and many other security vendors to ensure our site isn't destroyed again, but until we get our heads around it's complex whitelisting rules, new file uploads that contain either/or these two characters in it's file name are blocked by default.

For now, please try and make sure your upload filenames don't contain any of these characters before uploading.

Reminder: Please keep hash # and percentage % signs out of your filenames before uploading as our malware scanner will block those.

We'll be working on a solution to lessen the false positives by the end of this new week.
