The land was under control of the British, in terms of actual control and with a mandate from the League of Nations. True Palestine were never a state, i never said otherwise, but it existed as a region inside the the Ottoman Empire before the British came along, and i think even before the Ottoman Empire, not sure. But that can't be an argument as neither did Israel was ever a state.
