It seems Poland never learns — we're seeing a scenario that closely mirrors the pre-WWII era. In the 1930s, Poland and Nazi Germany were actually close allies, even signing the German–Polish Non-Aggression Pact in 1934. Interestingly, today's media often highlights the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact of 1939, while overlooking other similar agreements like the Franco-German Declaration of 1938 or the German–Danish Non-Aggression Pact of 1939.

The relationship was so strong that Adolf Hitler even ordered an official state service upon Piłsudski’s death in 1935. And we all know how that chapter of history ended for Poland...
