On different versions they are differnt.
I suggest to use all averages indi and you can find out .
Usually its an exponential moving average with median price the value how many candles its calculates differs.

Xard, I found the Hilo MA indicator from another thread

If you are having problems with v22 then may I suggest that you try this version as you can change the setting to your own preference.

If the stoplight says buy and you have an uptrend (Semafore below etc) then jump in.
