After Kellogg making demand of Putin in TV interviews Putin is putting the US in their place, the US are not, never were, nor could ever be a mediator to a conflict they themselves started back in 2014 and have continuously perpetuated ever since.
Now the west intends to gang up and all go to Turkey themselves to reinforce the Ukrainian team because, as Kellogg admits, they were the ones who wrote the Ukrainian memorandum anyway.
"We'll have what we call the E3. That is the national security advisors from Germany, France, and Great Britain” Kellogg said.
Putin has remained polite throughout the Trump team's bungled attempts at mediation over the past several weeks but now may be the time to tell them all to fuck off.
June 2nd is a good opportunity for Putin to turn the tables and not allow the NATO team in the same room, make them sit off in a side room like they planned to do to the Russian team during the Swiss peace talks a year or so ago.
Some commentators are saying that the massive drone offensive by Ukraine last week of some 750 drones was a long time in the planning and was expected to force Russia to the negotiating table.
That the Russians shot them all down and then hit Ukraine with an even bigger attack that was unstoppable was what made Trump and the west so angry.
And so now Merz's proposes to send Taurus missiles into Moscow and the 'Russian Hinterland', after all - what could possibly go wrong

What's really going on?
Ukraine and the west need a long pause before the Ukrainians collapse altogether. A long pause will allow NATO to rebuild and re-equip the Ukrainian forces (again).
But a pause would mean the loss of the Russians current battlefield advantage. They don't need a rest and their production lines are providing all the necessaries. So the Russians are content to continue to roll on especially as they are now in the main fighting season, the ground is firm and good for the movement of tanks and artillery around the battlefield.
Trump was sold the Ukrainian propaganda by the west's neocons that the Russian forces were tired and desperate for a pause as well as the Ukrainians, and thought the ceasefire idea would work all round. He's only now just catching up with reality.
Not only do the Russians not want to disrupt their summer offensive plans they also know that any ceasefire will prompt the west to slip western troops into Ukraine as 'peacekeepers' that will be impossible to remove without using deadly force. There's also the prospect of the west rushing Ukraine into NATO during a pause and giving it the protections that comes with membership.
Putin knows full well that NATO is using Ukraine to try to cripple Russia and so Russia must totally neuter Ukraine or they will never have peace on their western border.
Putin just needs to look at the Korean peninsular to see what a mess a prolonged ceasefire can lead to.
So it's unlikely Russia will stop fighting unless their demands are met or they achieve them on the battlefield, which they have every confidence of doing in due course.
