Boring to listen to all the nonsense rhetoric that 'Putin doesn't want peace'.
Of course Putin wants peace, but it won't be peace on Zelensky's terms.
Zelensky's maximalist terms that Russia surrender and Putin hand himself over to the western justice system for trial despite the fact he's obviously winning the war.
Oh, but what about Putin's maximalist terms? Well they're not really. When you enter into an armed conflict and lose there'll always be a heavy price to pay. That's it. FAFO. And the longer you wait the more you lose.
Oh, but the west will save Ukraine! No they won't, because the neocons running western foreign policy are absolutely full of bullshit which anyone watching them for the last few decades should know.
The west never had the capacity or the will and so never had any intention of getting Ukraine out of the mess they got Ukraine into.
And there's now no effort from Trump for any new aid package for Ukraine.
The Europeans say 'we don't have any more to give, we'll buy some from the US to give to Zelensky.'
The US says 'Zelensky's screaming out for Patriot missiles but we don't have any to give, maybe the Europeans can give him some.'
The Europeans say 'we don't have any more to give, we'll buy some from the US to give to Zelensky' … wait what?
So the EU can only order munitions from the US with a delivery date of at least 3 years into the future – when Ukraine won't exist without negotiating terms now.
Kellogg is saying Russia launching drones into Ukraine is a war crime but fails to mention the 764 drones Ukraine launched into Russia from Tuesday to Friday.
Kellogg's drinking his own Koolaid when demanding Russia agree to his ceasefire now.
If there's no hope of the US being at all realistic the Russians will just completely ignore them and there's nothing the US can do about it.
Commentators are saying Russian missiles/drones are hitting airfields throughout Ukraine over the weekend and so could be in preparation for the Russian offensive.
But the Russian offensive is not thought to be any big arrow manoeuvrers like at the start of the SMO in 2022 but rather opening large new fronts such as in Sumy and Kharkiv that the Ukraine army simply do not have the men to cover affectively.
They don't want the Ukraine army to run away and hide, they want to hold it down and destroy it.
That is probably the most important difference between manoeuvre warfare and attrition warfare.
And so where are we at now, (as verified by Western and Ukrainian sources);
-Severe depletion of Ukrainian manpower and air defence systems.
-Russian long range drone production now at 300 a day, increasing to 500.
-Putin orders army to create a 100km deep buffer zone in Ukraine's Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts.
-250,000 Russian troops on standby.
Merz has announced the west has stopped limits on long range missiles not realising that if you have a smaller stick threatening someone with the stick is not really a threat.
Merz thinks this is a stunning and brave escalation but Russia is already able to intercept the western ATTAKMS and Storm Shadows which is why they stopped firing them, and it won't take long for the Russians to get the measure of the German Taurus missiles as well, then what?
Reminder that the targeting and firing of western missiles is done by western personal in Ukraine and that the west still can't touch the incoming Russian hypersonic missiles.
