Latest trend: iPhones now for sale with MT4 & MT5 installed


In the past few hours there's been a number of “opportunists” looking to take advantage of the situation. On Twitter there are a number of offers of iPhones with MT4 and MT5 preloaded for $5,000 and up.

Apparently the CEO of Metaquotes helped some oligarchs to move money around

consequently, MT5 was banned in the US.
MT4 is still surviving.

Are we gonna see Metaquotes disappearing altogether in the coming weeks because of its collusions with Russia ?

No, that's the rumours circulating around at the moment.

They haven't banned MT5 desktop platform outright yet from the US.

According to a report by Finance Magnates, MetaQuotes have stated that the MT4 & MT5 apps were removed as the apps currently do not comply with Apple App Store Guidelines A MetaQuotes representative told Finance Magnates that the company received a letter from Apple on Friday, September 23, stating that the firm's trading apps do not comply with the App Store Review Guidelines.

"Apple provided assurance that customers who have already downloaded the Apps will not be affected. These customers can still use the Apps from their devices and will still have access to any in-app purchase products," the representative explained.

'No Link to Western Sanctions on Russia'

"We do not believe that Apple's actions are linked in any way with the Western sanctions on Russia," the MetaQuotes representative told Finance Magnates.

The representative, however, noted that the removal of the trading apps from the App Store has caused significant losses to the company.

"The removal of the Apps does not only affect the parties involved but also the industry as a whole," the representative said.

MetaQuotes noted that it was liaising with Apple "in an effort to clarify the situation" and resolve the issue. The company further said it was considering other various options.

"The MetaTrader apps, which are made by a Cypriot-based company called MetaQuotes, has been used to perpetrate a new type of cryptocurrency scam, known as pig butchering, where a scammer builds a longer term relationship with their victim before convincing them to invest money over time. A key element of the scam is the use of bogus cryptocurrency apps and websites, which purport to show the victim that they’re making money off their investment, when in fact the scammer has taken everything.

Apple’s ban of MetaTrader comes two weeks after Forbes profiled one California-based scam victim, who lost over $1 million last year. This victim, known as Cy, made all of his purported trades on the MetaTrader app, which showed him fictitious returns. At the time, Apple spokesperson Adam Dema said the company was investigating MetaTrader and was looking into additional action to protect App Store users if necessary."

When will MT4 and MT5 return to iOS?

It's still unclear whether MT4 and MT5 will return to the iOS App Store anytime soon or if Google will follow and remove MT4 and MT5 from it's Play Store as well.
