There's something very wrong with western intelligence agencies.

In recent weeks the head of the CIA as well as a German government minister went to tell top Russian government officials about the near ruinous state of the Russian economy. As if the Russians didn't know the real state of their own economy.

This is quite extraordinary, you don't need to have the resources of the world's top intelligence agency to know that for the last 25 years western countries have had practically zero real growth and that since Covid high inflation has been constantly eating away at living standards.

And you don't need to do too much research to discover that in Russia they have full employment with steadily increasing worker income, expanding production and building sectors to the point of needing to import foreign workers, and that shops are well stocked and business is good.

So how can the head of the CIA not know that?

Ahh, but the Russians always lie, don't you know. No, the basic state of a country's economy is demonstrable if you open your eyes.

Ahh, but the sanctions see. No, there’s a fundamental flaw in the concept of trying to cripple a country with sanctions when that country is basically self-sufficient in everything it actually needs (same with Iran btw).

The simple truth is that western intelligence agencies don't actually have any (intelligence).

They all automatically parrot ver batum anything the Ukrainian propaganda merchants tell them and actually believe every word of it.

So it comes as a complete shock when the Russian officials tell these western officials to just fuck off. This has been the same story over and over since 2022 from Macron and Scholtz to the present day bunch of clowns, they still haven't learnt.

Every day the EU number 2 Karen Callous tells us that the Russian economy is collapsing and that this latest 20th-something sanctions package will be the final straw.

Same in the US with their latest law that allows Trump to sanction countries trading with Russia only he can't actually do it because China would hurt the US very badly if he did.

There's something fundamentally unsound with both these current wars the west started, or at least provoked, and are happy to see continue with no end in sight.

At least until Russia takes as much of Ukraine as it wants and Iran receives as much regular income from shipping as it needs to compensate for the US sanctions.

Whatever the initial reason for starting there must now also be a reason for keeping them going.

One undisputable fact is that as things stand these wars will be the final end of the steady 25 year destruction of western Europe.

Do the globalist neoliberal clowns who have been driving us down the road to ruin for the last 25 years see an expanding, continent wide war as the only possible way out? War is a traditional way of wiping out overwhelming national debt quickly after all.

Trump MUST keep both wars going.

There are 2 big reasons for Trump and Bessent to keep the Iran and Ukraine wars ticking over. Iran, by damaging the Gulf states oil production and therefore monetary income, will force them to sell assets. Iran is trying to cause a big US bond sell off by the Gulf states to damage the US economy.

The US meanwhile is trying to capture control of the lion’s share of the global energy supply before Iran can break the US bond market.

The US needs to get control of the global energy supply to cement its position as the global hegemon, and then be able to control China’s energy supply, and so have leverage over the level of their manufacturing production and wealth creation.

China’s oil imports from Russia still fall well short of the country’s needs, especially if Ukraine can keep up their attacks on Russia’s oil infrastructure.

“America does not need to win a bond war if it can make the whole world dependent on American energy priced in American dollars.”

“Iran (and Ukraine) is creating expensive oil overtly but America is creating expensive oil covertly.”

Reminder from previous posts that the US is currently the world's leading oil producer producing the same amount as Saudi and Russia combined.

On to the US debt problem and Trump has started talking about using inflation to shrink the worth of US debt. That will be by printing money to buy their own bonds back, propping up the bond market but adding to the pool of all dollars making each dollar worth less, so keeping interest rates low while causing inflation.

:Hot: To make it all work the government needs to be able to borrow at interest rates less than inflation which at the moment it can’t. The US 10 year yield currently is around 5% while US inflation is around 3%.

If it was the other way around Trump would pay 3% a year interest on debt and watch 5% inflation depreciate the debt pile. But Trump is thinking much bigger than that.

Say for example the interest rate was 1% and inflation was 10%, extreme by today's standards but Trump remembers the 1970s and inflation near 15%.

:Hot: :Hot: So Trump needs to wait for inflation to rise, which it will do so long as the Iran and Ukraine wars continue disrupting oil production while the US prints money to buy back its own bonds.

Iran and Ukraine destroy the energy production infrastructure of countries other than the US, global inflation will rise, meanwhile the US must also put pressure on bond holders around the world not to sell their US treasuries.

Trump can then watch inflation overtake the US bond yield which over time will decrease the value of the US debt (and the value of your wages and savings too btw).

And so we now have Trump saying interest rates should really be 1% and is furious at the Fed for daring to raise rates which makes the plan harder to pull off.

But the Fed’s Warsh only has so much control over interest rates, he can set short term rates to a degree but can’t buck the market. Bonds need to be renewed on a routine basis, if holders demand more yield for holding riskier bonds the issuer will need to pay it or will not find any buyers.

So what’s Europe doing? They seem to be all in on backing the US and see their only hope of avoiding default on their own debt repayments in winning a war against Russia and dividing up Russia’s natural resources. Of course they will need the US to help which is why they are backing the US even to the point of the destruction of their own economies.

Watch out for the next Fed rate meeting 28th of October and the rhetoric in the build up. Kevin Warsh is Trump’s pick for Fed chair but is doing the opposite of what Trump wants (needs).

These 2 short videos below tell the story of wars and bonds, debt and inflation.
