I disagree with that, even if I always respect the rules here
The thing is that I always share my codes. why ? because if you restrict source code, then you're basically saying : "you're my bitch and i'll do whatever I want with you"
it's giving something to someone, but with the ability to take it back at any moment.
what if the indicator stops working because of an update and the programmer is "1) dead 2) stopped working here 3) doesn't care anymore 4) etc" ? well, then you're fucked
that's why I try to never use indicators without source code and I always give codes of my indis.
Otherwise what's the point ?

As ionone said, "The source code files allow users to modify or create derivative works later without worrying about the indicator suddenly becoming unusable." Sharing or non-sharing your codes is your right and preference. Rules are different.
You can propose to change the rules, you cannot inspire people to disregard them.
