1823More hubris pours out from the western leadership this time from NATO's Mark Rutter at the defence ministers summit in Brussels. Russian planes will be escorted from western air space because Russia is 'weak' and NATO is 'strong'. Rutte also learnt from the film Red October that Russia only has 1 limping submarine so nothing to worry about there.
Meanwhile the retired US General Ben Hodges says if Russia attacks then both Kaliningrad and Sevastopol would be “annihilated” in the very first hour, presumably he thinks Russia won't respond because Russia would be too scared.
Meanwhile Trump has said he 'destroyed' BRICS (not sure when that happened) and the Russian economy is about to collapse. Then comes Trump's Tomahawk threat, new information says that the US only makes less than 100 a year though does have a stockpile of maybe 4,000 but will need to save most for real enemies like China and Venezuela.
Experts say that probably 100 might be sent to Ukraine (similar numbers as the himars and ataacms) but given that it took 40 of the missiles to disable an air base in Syria that was then back up and running the next day so 100 missiles won't make a lot of difference.
Then there remains the problem of launching them, the Typhon launcher takes 4 Tomahawks, they travel in a 40 foot container that can't be loaded onto the back of a truck but maybe 'they could be mounted on a barge in a river somewhere', yeah, like the Russians won't see that. The Tomahawks are just a bluff.
Which is why Zelensky talks about them non-stop every day, has phone calls with Trump every day and visits Washington at least once a week.
All this rhetoric and fake news is suddenly being pumped now for a reason. Ukraine is in big trouble. Russian troops are now on the edges of Mirnograd, and Shakhove, the city in the west cauldron and the town in the east cauldron of the Pokrovsk breakout. Pokrovsk itself has Russian troops at its centre and covering all roads leading in.
Big armour attacks are back on the menu and is an indication that the Russians are ready to push on and close up the Pokrovsk cauldrons while Russian troops are also fighting in Kupiansk, Konstantinovka and Siverk. This Ukrainian line of defence made up of a string cities contains the major part of Ukraine's total fighting force is collapsing. And behind them is nothing but the Dnipro river, the bridges of which the Russians have left intact.

1825Reports of Russian troops entering Kherson city from both Ukrainian and Russian sources. This would mean a substantive force crossing the Dnipro river into the southern part of Kherson and another new front for Ukraine to deal with.
Russian troops also reported now in the city of Myrnohrad which lays just to the east of Pokrovsk as Russia continues to close up the Pokrovsk cauldron.
A lot of commentors in Russia and some in the west seem to be getting impatient with Putin and his failure to snap back at Trump's now near constant sniping.
I think Putin is playing it right. Zelensky and Biden (now Trump) have consistently played this game, the verbal build up of the next new wonder weapon. It usually goes on for weeks and is the main part of the bluff because, as has happened with each incarnation, the 'wonder weapon' turns out to be a dud.
They must have know this, with each new 100 whatever missiles they aim at Russia Russia has sent back x1000 and that never won the conflict for them, so why would 100 tomahawks do it for Ukraine, it won't.
Javelins, triple As, Abrams, storm shadows, scalps, himars, atacms, F-16s, and now tomahawks. None were the 'game changer' advertised but the arrival of each was preceded by weeks and weeks of hype. It's almost like they knew but hoped the hype itself would be enough to make Putin step back, it never worked and this time will be no different.
So Putin need not respond to the constant threats and snipping because bluff is all it is. Ultimately Putin knows Russia is winning and will continue to win because the west doesn't have anything other than nukes that they can throw that could harm Russia, and as this conflict is not existential to the US, they wont.
Not only will Russia win no matter how long the west keeps dragging the dying Ukraine along by it's lead Russia also has escalation dominance, anything the west can do they can do better. The west fires off some tomahawks (if they're ever actually able to) then Russia will just start sending back 10x more Oreshniks.
There really is no need for Putin to be the one to trigger any escalation especially in response to nothing more than mere rhetoric. He's right to wait for actual deeds first.

And secondly, for the first time in the whole conflict Ukraine have said they shot down NO Iskander missiles last night (look Don, see how desperate we are for some Patriots, pleeeese think of the children).
