We would like to think that as President of the USA Trump would have the best sources of information available but apparently he doesn't.

He should forget about the Ukraine conflict, it was a lost cause anyway, and get on with the more urgent work of clearing out the corrupt intel agencies (CIA, NSA etc) that have taken control of information and are peddling all the propaganda (via the NYT and WP).

That's what he was going to do before getting side tracked and bogged down in Ukraine, funny that.

After some recent urgency then a pause, reality seems to be seeping through to all those involved as well as western propaganda media.

Putin will achieve his goals either at the table or on the battlefield.

At the table will mean less, mostly Ukrainian, blood will be spilled. That will be the only difference.

Zelensky has/will lost/lose depending on where you want to draw the morality line. Partial or complete sacrifice of the country he claims to represent.

The fact that US and Brazilian news channels allowed Lavrov to say Russia will achieve their goals indicated a huge shift in the messaging to the western public.

Zelensky had no chance of winning after 2023. The continuation was purely for western benefit (hurting Russia) not Ukraine's.

Trump is suppose to be giving the 2 sides until Monday (5th) to come to some kind of an agreement or he'll announce the US withdrawal of all support for project Ukraine.

Ultra-nationalists in the Ukrainian armed forces are concerned enough to issue a death threat to Zelensky, live on air, if he made any sort of an agreement with Russia.

How long can Ukraine limp on with just the EU/UK issuing continuous promises of aid to be delivered sometime, hopefully, before 2030 – maybe. Probably not long.

In reality the EU/UK will make their excuses and follow Trump out blaming Russia and ramping up their own plans to find money for a shiny new EU army.

It's all gone very quiet but presumably the Trump clock is still ticking.

Witkoff returned from Moscow with news that Putin was not going to give in and agree to any unconditional ceasefire.

Maybe Trump will start to understand Putin's position, that negotiations must come before any long-term unconditional ceasefire, not after.

Having the ceasefire first, as Zelensky wants, means Russia giving away their advantage on the battlefield, which would be a step towards putting Ukraine in that 'stronger position for negotiations' they keep going on about.

So Putin was never going to agree to it. And after 3 months you would hope the Trump team had figured that out but in fact Trump feels Putin has been 'stringing him along'.

That same Putin who's kept the exact same stance since June 2024.

Getting a long-term unconditional ceasefire was the Trump team's main goal. With that Trump could just walk away 'a winner' and not care what happened afterwards (mayhem obviously).

But never mind, Kellogg and the EU/UK have just come up with a brand new 22 point action plan at the last minute. Neither Kellogg nor the EU/UK saw any reason to talk to the Russians before coming up with their plan for peace, obviously.

Kellogg has decided that the conflict is in a stalemate and cannot be won militarily by either side. One small snag, he just needs to convince Putin of that.

The problem is that this scenario only exists in Kellogg's head, back in reality Putin knows Russia is winning and will win and there is nothing anyone can do, short of starting WW3, to stop it.

And Putin's not playing cards now that Putin's holding all the cards.

Except on whatever planet Kellogg and the EU/UK are on.

Another moron retired US general, Jack Keane, scoffs at Russia's demand to demilitarise Ukraine not realising that's exactly what already being done on the battlefield.

Leaked US and Russian intel concur over 1 million Ukrainian troops killed and over 2 million severely wounded.

More leaked intel says that instead of mobilising the 30,000 a month needed for replacements Ukraine is only getting 4,000.

And a new report from Ukraine says that those in the govt dept who mobilises people are now to be made available to be mobilised themselves. Desperate times.

In other news not seen on the BBC the US navy lost a $60 million F18 that fell overboard when the aircraft carrier had to make a sharp turn to avoid a Houthi missile.
