when calling it with iCustom, it gives the following error: wae(mod).ex4 Alert: Invalid File Name, both in the experts tab and as a pop-un notification.

I am not at home to test it, but look in your indicator folder, how this file really named....this pop-up is only show, when file in your indicator folder is not same as original....

yes, i checked and double checked, hence why i asked for help. the file is named exactly as it was downloaded from forex station, and the name and path is copy pasted. it's the same with this version, as well as with the classic implementation of the indicator.
the error appears when calling it with icustom with default settings (icustom(symbol,period, buffer,shift) and when adding all indicator inputs

I download indicator from your post and try it in simple EA and it is working without problem....
Maybe your iCustom have wrong name, indicator name is .... wae(mod) .... not .... wae(mod).ex4 ......

stupidly enough, i would have still struggled so much for this simple answer .... the EA i'm building incorporates indicators as resource...
when declaring the #resource indicator path & name, i have to specify the.ex4 .. all the indicators in the iCustom statements i've used have the same name, with .ex4 ... this is the only indicator where i don't have the source code ... after removing the .ex4 from the iCustom statement, works like a charm ... can't believe i never thought of that

Been trying to add the mtf but think the bid and ask lines are not allowing it to work, if no one else is able to get it to work can probably do a mtf version without the ask and bid line.

without the lines is perfect (if you like you could remove them). just to be able to see what a higher timeframe current HA bar is doing
possibly a bar limit (50-100)
