could it be that the Jurik variant that colors the candles no longer calculates the JMA correctly?

The two earlier versions:

Adaptive - Jurik Filter (MTF + Alerts + FL's)
Adaptive Jurik Filter (MTF + Alerts + FLs)

show identical results on the chart.

However, the candle variant Adaptive - Jurik Filter (MTF + Alerts + Candles + FL's + Btn) – regardless of whether the button version is used or not – looks significantly different with the same settings (the red-marked JMA is the candle version).
It almost seems as if an incorrect period is being calculated?

I have attached the preset file.

Could you take a look and, if possible, adjust the candle variant accordingly?

Thank you in advance!

Best regards
Hello, thanks for testing, yeah something was off, not sure what changed a few things, and it seems better and the same as the other version now, but please test to verify.

Dear mrtools,

thank you for looking into the issue.
Unfortunately, the updated version still differs significantly from the original versions.
Something still doesn’t seem quite right.

The original version I have it is exactly the same as the version i posted, so don't have any idea what the difference could be, sorry I couldn't be of any more help., If I find another version in my files will check if it is any different.

Hello mrtools,

okay, I guess there’s nothing more that can be done.
Still, thank you for your help!

Best regards

Dear mrtools,

I have done some research and believe I have found the indicator that uses the original calculation of the Jurik indicators – as implemented in
“Adaptive - Jurik Filter (MTF + Alerts + FL's)” and “Adaptive Jurik Filter (MTF + Alerts + FLs)”.
This is the indicator Jurik filter 1.02.mq4 (I believe it was created by Jimmy).
Interestingly, version 1.03 deviates once again.

When I overlay the Jurik filter 1.02.mq4 with the Adaptive Jurik Filter (MTF + Alerts + FLs), both set with a Jurik period of 35 & same price setting,
the results are nearly identical (see Screenshot 1).

It is also noteworthy that when I disable “Jurik Double Smooth” in both indicators, their outputs differ significantly (see Screenshot 2).
However, in that case the Adaptive - Jurik Filter (MTF + Alerts + FL's), Adaptive Jurik Filter (MTF + Alerts + FLs), and adaptive - jurik filter (mtf + alerts + candles + fl's + btn).ex4 seem to align.
This suggests that the double smoothing is correctly implemented in the adaptive - jurik filter (mtf + alerts + candles + fl's + btn).ex4 – indeed, it appears to work better in the Adaptive versions than in the Jurik filter 1.02.mq4.

From my layman’s perspective, the issue seems to lie in the different calculation of the Jurik period.
I understand that this might be seen as nitpicking, but I still consider the Adaptive - Jurik Filter (MTF + Alerts + FL's) / Adaptive Jurik Filter (MTF + Alerts + FLs) to be the best MA-like indicator, and it is significantly more precise than the adaptive - jurik filter (mtf + alerts + candles + fl's + btn).ex4.

Therefore, my big request to you is: if you have some time, could you please take a look at the calculation of the Jurik period in Jurik filter 1.02.mq4 and transfer it to the adaptive - jurik filter (mtf + alerts + candles + fl's + btn).ex4?

Perhaps, as an additional enhancement, it would also be possible to integrate the “Jurik Power” function from the jurik moving average BT.ex4?

Best regards,
Kayleb

Did this version using the jma filter 1.02 calculations and added the jurik power to the mix, preliminary testing it is different from the earlier version I posted, so hopefully it matches the earlier version.

I think it's different because it's an adaptive version of Jurik
you'll never get the same result

Hello ionone,

it seems there has been a misunderstanding. I was not referring to the Jurik filter 1.02.mq4 in my comparison, but rather to the Adaptive - jurik filter (mtf + alerts + fl's).ex4 – that is, the previous version.

The fact that the Adapt jurik filter (mtf + alerts + candles + fl's + btn).ex4 still deviates slightly from the Adaptive - jurik filter (mtf + alerts + fl's).ex4 is probably due to ongoing differences in the calculation of adaptation and/or smoothing.
So far, I haven’t found any source code addressing this.

The adaptation to the Jurik filter 1.02.mq4 has certainly resulted in a significant alignment.
Perhaps further alignments will be possible in the future, but I already consider the current version a marked improvement.

Kayleb
