hello i have been hunting around for different indicators/combination used for market phase identification and wanted to ask if anyone reading this had any noteworthy suggestions. i look for the uses of code and find value in looking them over. i had been looking for a direct indicator whos function was primarily that but with no such luck. i thought maybe there is a bang off indicator that someone more experienced would know right off that i was just un aware of?? i started messing around with the basic 200 period sma and smma over and under price or with other ma crosses and came up with a filter i found interesting on one of the assets i was looking at. so it bore fruit but i didn't necessarily discover anything for market phase identification. but i may try a MA cross of the 200 per. smma (median, or close) that only allows sell trades when under and buy trades when over. i think it would miss some early entries and some moves but overall would be more reliable and raise the win rate making it trade less but more successfully and hassle free. will likely find its way into a variation for testing. not to get sidetracked
thanks for taking the time to read. any suggestions if you know any are appreciated.
to reiterate the main idea " Does anyone know any indicators or indicator combinations for market phase identification ?" either accumulation/distribution or what i was orginally going for flat/cycle range/ trending etc thanks again.
Re: Wanted to ask about-market phase identification??
2to be honest u can mark or highlight market accumulation phases without indicator , if u follow one pair its more easy generally speaking market go sideways or accumulate after a healthy move ,nine wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 1:30 am hello i have been hunting around for different indicators/combination used for market phase identification and wanted to ask if anyone reading this had any noteworthy suggestions. i look for the uses of code and find value in looking them over. i had been looking for a direct indicator whos function was primarily that but with no such luck. i thought maybe there is a bang off indicator that someone more experienced would know right off that i was just un aware of?? i started messing around with the basic 200 period sma and smma over and under price or with other ma crosses and came up with a filter i found interesting on one of the assets i was looking at. so it bore fruit but i didn't necessarily discover anything for market phase identification. but i may try a MA cross of the 200 per. smma (median, or close) that only allows sell trades when under and buy trades when over. i think it would miss some early entries and some moves but overall would be more reliable and raise the win rate making it trade less but more successfully and hassle free. will likely find its way into a variation for testing. not to get sidetracked

Re: Wanted to ask about-market phase identification??
3sweet thanks for the feedback.
right now i have been tracking recent highs and lows and once price moves beyond them or a fixed amount switching to a kama to govern the trade. i have been running into market phase identification and could do it manually but like the idea of having my program have the ability to identify current market status, sentiment etc and if there are established methods i usually defer to their calculations for review. especially if there is a measure that can identify the phase on onset i may be able to play around with doing something myself though i feel kind of like im bootstraping when an established indicator is out there seems as though its done by someone more knowledgeable and the calculation is proven and accepted. ( i searched and inquired - maybe ill go deeper in the mql programmers databse- always a good spot to look)
right now i am rounding out my knowledge there are gaps in the base of my understanding. i am making lists of filters for example so i understand the differences and functions of them. also i am making a basic information dashboard that displays and records basic calculations. there is 10 calculations so far. it may not yield anything significant but i dont fully understand some of the basic calculations and i keep running into them in the uses of other indicators (standard deviation. rolling momentum, etc) just a hobby project though i am setting it up to record to a file(havent done that yet) and have been wanting to experiment with AI reviewing data sets to see what kind of correlations it can produce if any. ill be curious about it until i do it. not that this is relevant but i am aware of my ignorance. and i cant help but feel i look to things that are complex that i lack understanding in, that i may be overlooking the obvious which is simple and i may just not be aware of it. thanks for taking the time to read if you did. much appreciated.

4i found the "The Forex Master Pattern" seems like it is substantial. i like the look of it wasn't my initial intention but i was not really defined either. there are several scanners on TV though i think they are invite only and not open-source code. or i would consider looking at a conversion. something promising to investigate though.
