Guys few minute ago my mt4 terminal was updated and surprisingly after update everything has been removed my indicator my templates my libraries as you all know how much time we spend gathering indicators and templates now its all gone just want to know where would be the backup of my files and indicator after update ?

Hi Buddy,

All your metatrader 4 user files from different broker versions etc. should be insinde this folder...

C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\

The Folders for each metatrader version should have a name formated this way ex .- folders names - "294B6FCE6F709DE82DA4C87FDBF1DE36"

Replace the XXXX with your username from Windows....

hey bro thanks for quick reply but i have vert strange issue all the files indicators and templates have been removed from terminal folder as well pretty weird

Well,
that is really super weird, never happened to me, and I have old folders there from platforms of brokers I do not even use anymore.
For that to happen it needs to be deleted by you ( even on a mistake )( Or other computer administrator ) but needs to be specified by you or another admin account to delete that folder.
( or if you run a REVO Uninstaller kind of program to completely clean all data from the app).

I am extra careful with all that is related to trading, and I make 2 or 3 times a week a complete backup from that folders, encrypted in AES-256 as there are a lot of code I changed it myself, and after that I save it onto an external encrypted hard drives and online into 2x different cloud places.

PS - You can try to recover the lost data with TestDisk ( Data Recovery )
