(Reuters) - The Kremlin on Wednesday described as "dangerous" comments by Jens Stoltenberg, the outgoing head of NATO, that a decision by the West to allow Ukraine to use Western long-range weapons to strike Russia would not be a red line that would prompt an escalation by Moscow.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has been pleading with allies for months to let Ukraine fire Western missiles including long-range U.S. ATACMS and British Storm Shadows into Russia to limit Moscow's ability to launch attacks.

In an interview with The Times published on Tuesday, Stoltenberg dismissed a warning by Russian President Vladimir Putin last week that letting Ukraine use such weapons to strike deep inside Russian territory would mean the West was directly fighting Russia.

It shouldn't need pointing out that Stoltenberg is an idiot but given that Russian news is banned in the west perhaps an explanation would help.

The red lines Jens is talking about are BIDEN's red lines, not Putins. Biden said NATO wouldn't send tanks, or missiles or F-16s and then they did.

There have been only 3 actual Putin red lines, 1 - if Ukr intends to join NATO there will be war with Ukr - (check). 2 - If NATO fires missiles into Russia there will be war with NATO (maybe coming soon). 3 - If NATO takes Crimea they will be able to blockade Russian trade which is existential and so Rus will make sure there will not be a world with no Russia in it.

(Reminder that Ukr are not able to fire these missiles, only NATO can)

Reminder too that Putin is not stupid, he will not just start firing missiles at London and Paris, he will give hypersonic missiles to Iran and the Houthis to start a war in the middle east that the US will have to join and will probably tie them up for years to come, and likely cost them their navy which has no defence against such missiles.

Everyone seeing escalation as Zelensky's only hope now and the truly stupid are forced to reveal themselves.
