FlexTrader wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 11:12 am It appears I am not able to respond to private messages. The system indicates, my profile is new and I don't have access to this functionality.

Beatle's setup could be improved. I would say simplified. Major components of my system are: CBDR central bank dealing range (for all instruments, this defines the ADR often to the pip), Asian range, NY open price (midnight NY time) key levels which are dynamically plotted based on past history (sometimes up to 9 yrs, yes.., setting up guardrails for price (non-repainting), standard deviations based on CBDR (I know where price may end up at the start of London session); trigger for a trade based on inside bar (the mother of consolidation, which is followed by expansion, often coincides with ATS contraction; trading windows London and NY but not just the entire sessions; for Swiss watch entries time macros used by the algo which moves price of any instrument.

Here is a snip. Some elements have been removed for simplicity. [price action on the far left side] Price stop hunts Asian range, displaces rapidly during London trading zone hitting the bottom of CBDR to the pip!; reverses back to take out the low of the Asian range and sweeps NY open price (blue dashed line; almost coincides with the mid-point of ATS contraction; drops 1/2 standard deviation (50% of 1st level CBDR). This cycle repeats.

Traders want to trade. I want to know when not to trade. This gives me a pretty good idea.

I was sad to see Beatle go. I have been in his shoes 4 yrs ago. Had no idea what a wick is. I can read naked charts, but again, having guardrails boosts my confidence.
Hi FlexTrader,

Do you mind sharing your indicator settings for the CBDR, especially for the below? If GMT offset = 3, 'diff from 0 EST' should be set to 8 i suppose? Based on my understanding, it shouldn't overlap with the Asian session (Australia, HK & Japan).

Thanks in advance.

Hi and sorry for the late response, I have not been on this forum for a while.

The attached set is for a broker which has GMT-0 offset on their servers like Exness, AvaTrade.
Create a demo on Exness, load the indicator and the set (this is for summer time, when winter time kicks in, the "4" in the settings become "5".)
You should see this graph below (Gold example).

Go back to your original trading server, load the indicator and play with the offsets until the Exness account graph matches your trading account graph.

CBDR is a roadmap, the rooms in a house. ATR/ADR are averages. CBDR is as close as it gets.

Hint: if price hits a full level (standard deviation) during London or NY, most likely there will be reversal. CBDR is better on lower TF.

Hint: True day open price is always the price at midnight NY time, it is not the broker time for a new day. The blue line in the graph is true day open (midnight). Price at that level is like magnet/target.

Hint: Refer to post post1295547369.html#p1295547369 for trading times.

Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion, FlexTrader. I created a demo account on AvaTrade and tweaked my broker settings to line up with UTC/GMT+0. It worked like a charm! Too bad that the indicator doesn't have a source mq4 file. Else, could have added a ON/OFF toggle button to activate/deactivate the CBDR boxes. The colors are too striking for me. As a workaround, I've set the 'Show the STD Buy and Sell Zone Boxes above the CBDR" to false.

When you say a full level, are you referring to SD1 or all the way to the extreme, SD3?

Notes

As this isn't my main, live trading account I couldn't focus on it as much as I wanted to as I'm actively trading Futures as well. At times I let trades run with a rule not to open any more than 1 trade at a time, so my activity was limited during the testing of this system.

This is a good, winning system which gives you a bit of "overconfidence" after making so many profitable trades. This tempts you to want to get in a lot earlier. But you have to be patient, focus on the ADX line and the Histograms and this is all you need to make a wealthy living from the market.

Hi Jimmy,
What is you method for finding the most volatile pairs?
I try to trade all 28 with a currency strength method and find it is not working very well.
(Specific website, timeframe or indicator?)
Thanks!
