Hello everyone,

Here is a log on some recent fixes for our forum and also remaining fixes/upgrades to be done in the near future

If anyone notices any issues or bugs with the forum please help us by letting us know by posting here

Completed in the last 30 days:

Upgraded the server PHP version from PHP 5.6 to PHP 7.2 which now allows our forum to respond 50% faster.
Fixed the "Received Thanks" notification options in Board Preferences section. You can now toggle these options On and Off without it being stuck on "Off".
Removed spammy Google ads with videos and sound (will keep an eye on these).
Fixed issue with members not being able to upload PDF files over 250kb. The limit is now 100mb for each attachment.
Compressed and reduced size of all forum icons and banners by 40% (to load faster on low speed connections).
Site is now 98% mobile-friendly (still one more page to go which is the "Who Is Online" page.

Currently working on & to be completed within 90 days:

Top priority is to have only two static Google Ad units per page (one on the right hand side and one on the bottom) to further improve speed, user experience & make the forum look cleaner.
Upgrade phpBB forum software once given the all clear by developers.
Site will be 100% mobile-friendly.
Recent Topics side bar does not auto-adjust for pages and topic selection pages with less posts or content causing the Recent Topics and News side bar to stick out below. This will be worked on and fixed.
Another 1000 indicators, EA and Script files need to be uploaded from the saved archives.
Additional tweaks due for even more lightweight and faster loading for slower internet connections.

Remaining:

Have not addressed the site search issue yet. Still unable to search for three-lettered words in the site search. Temporary solution here.

Forex Station forum Changelog update.

Completed in the last 30 days:

Removed Web Fonts and replaced with standard Web Safe (system) fonts for additional speed (pages now loading in under 1.3 seconds).
Removed all advertisements on front page for speed (currently experimenting).
Fixed 80% of old posts and orphaned attachments from previous forum migration, cleaned up old posts (removed strange characters, corrected mismatched QUOTE codes in old posts, and broken links and broken images.
Optimized and fixed database errors.
Fixed error with hidden "Jump to page number" box. Visitors can now select a specific page number on any forum, thread or attachments page by clicking on Page number area (highlighted in yellow)

Currently working on & to be completed within 90 days:

Remaining 20% of old posts to be fixed and orphaned attachments assigned to correct poster(s).
Another 800 indicators, EA and Script files need to be uploaded from the saved archives.
Additional tweaks due for even more lightweight and faster loading for slower internet connections.

Remaining:

We still have not addressed the site search issue yet. Still unable to search for three-lettered words in the site search. Temporary solution here.

Forex Station forum Changelog update.

Completed in the last 30 days:

Added New Members Directory forum.
Improved the Attachments Files Centre to display posts correctly.
Attachments Files Centre now displays the user who posted the file in the index.
Permanently removed all advertisements from the home page (index).
Coders and Contributors now have the ability to post Stickies and Announcements in all forums.
Members can now permanently delete and edit posts in the Trading Journal Forum as well as post Stickies and Announcements in the Trading Journal forum.
Updated our Rules.
Installed new anti-forum spam software to monitor new members with low-quality posts.
Flood limit for members has now been removed (to enable faster and real-time responses).
Added over 100+ indicators from our Archives.
Additional tweaks made for even more lightweight and faster loading for slower internet connections.

Currently working on & to be completed within 90 days:

Another 800 indicators, EA and Script files need to be uploaded from the saved archives.
Will add the ability for members to search for files and attachments through others' profiles.
Will look at hiring additional Staff Members to help with our growing community.
Google Ads Issue is still displaying advertisements as "Billboard" size ads instead of standard "Banner" ads. Google has advised this is a bug and they are working on fixing this.

Remaining:

Have not addressed the site search issue yet. Still unable to search for three-lettered words in the site search. Temporary solution here.

Forex Station forum Changelog update.

Completed in the last 30 days:

Added additional Moderation abilities in the Trading Journal Forum section. Additional functions available include "Delete post" "Edit post" without time limits.
The "Search" function has finally been upgraded with a brand new database and full native text search. Search queries can be of a minimum of two characters (instead of three) which can aid in finding certain indicator names and so forth. The new search function looks the same but is now much more accurate.
Installed and upgraded to an entirely new website server. We now have quadrupled the memory available on our server and now running a CPU that is 6 x more powerful than our old one. The site should now be running very fast now, even at peak times and you should be able to "feel" a difference with loading!
Some tweaks have been made for even more lightweight pages, code has been cleaned up and the site loads a lot faster for slower internet connections now.
Quotes will now only display the last message quoted. Previously, quotes were "nested" and displayed the last two replies within one quote box. This has been adjusted to show only the last reply now to keep the forum cleaner and make replies easier to sift through.

Currently working on & to be completed within 90 days:

Another 200 indicators, EA and Script files need to be uploaded from the saved archives.
Will be discussing with staff a new "Real Rewards" system based on the "Thanks for posts".
Links will be set to open in external window.
Upgrade the "Attachments Forums" to have a search function.

Remaining:

Have not upgraded the Economic Calendar yet. Will be discussing with FBS in future and working out something in regards to pulling the news data from their news desks.
Additional staff member required for moderating.

Forex Station forum Changelog update.

Completed in the last 30 days:

Main page now displays the last 20 Recent Posts for quick reference.
Forum pages now display the last 6 Recent Posts to keep site more compact.
The new Search Function has been further adjusted to allow visitors to find what they need, fast.
Additional server tweaks made to accommodate more traffic and prevent the database from crashing (like last week).

Currently working on & to be completed within 90 days:

Links will be set to open in external window.
Upgrade the "Attachments Forums" to have a search function.

Remaining:

Have not upgraded the Economic Calendar yet. Will be discussing with FBS in future and working out something in regards to pulling the news data from their news desks.
Additional staff member required for moderating.

Forex Station forum Changelog update.

Completed in the last 30 days:

Members will now be given 1 week to Edit posts (instead of 24 hours).
Commercial members can only post in the Commercial Section now.
Posts now support all external emoji's from Google Keyboard, Android, iPhone etc.
Internal search function has been further tweaked and improved.
Inactive members have been removed. Users with zero posts and who have not logged in for over twelve months have been pruned. This has been done to keep the active members list accurate and the site fresh.
Quotes will now automatically include images.

Currently working on & to be completed within 90 days:

Major forum update to be completed which includes the latest phpBB software and security updates. Announcement will be made one week prior to the update and will be done over a weekend (Saturday and Sunday) to minimize downtime.

Remaining:

Members to be able to edit their own site status rank/mood.
Additional forum stats functions to be available on the index page in future.
Post reply box to be modernized and more intuitive for members to include easier-to-use buttons to add URL links, code, font color etc.
