Here is my small contribution how to detect a trending or sideways market : BB 360 (bollinger with period 360, timeframe is M5). Comments are on the pictures. I have tried to make my chart simple, so everyone can understand, ha ha.

Yes, that works, because 360 is near a high fibonacci nummber, but you get more and clearer trades with fibonacci number bollinger 144 (thick blue lines).

Yes, my friend Friend4you, but your chart is M15 and mine M5. Of course you can make it faster, I have already a fast BB for the compressions before a price move, and fast MA. I also have a BB360 on my M1 chart which is much faster, on a M5 chart that should be a BB72, but there I prefer a slower one.

There are many other variations of Angle versions
