There are a lot of MACDs. There have been several versions of MACD with zones, but the signal is actually not ideal.

The best MACD in my mind is still the pa adaptive MACD and the avgs macd digital kahler.

If the teacher has free time, he can make zones versions of pa adaptive MACD, avgs macd digital kahler, I believe it is interesting!
