Adding this video here as it's very helpful.

A 30 min video, the first half covers MT4 housekeeping to ensure MT4 runs smooth and fast, all the usual suspects, history size, clear out unused indicators, but also other useful stuff such as which log folders and files to clearout on a regular basis, running MT4 off a USB stick and more.

The second half is on PC housekeeping that I haven't followed up on yet but looks sound. Goes to the Ninite site and demonstrates half a dozen free PC cleanup and protection programes he uses regularly. Perhaps a bit old (2016) but still useful info.
