Futures are a product designed to be more cost effective for longer term trades typically 5 days or more. A Contract For Difference (cash/spot markets) are better for short term trades.

CFDs you pay a one off spread but also need to pay a daily interest fee (overnight swaps payment) while the futures market you pay a slightly higher spread which you renew on the monthly roll-over but there are no overnight fees.
