What is you method for finding the most volatile pairs?
I try to trade all 28 with a currency strength method and find it is not working very well.
(Specific website, timeframe or indicator?)
Thanks!
Good question brother. I choose the top 6 historically volatile forex pairs and I don't trade majors as price movement in the majors is confusing.
Oftentimes you'll find with the majors it's a downright chore to make even 20 pips before it reverses or mucks about, next thing, you're stopped out.

The minor pairs cost a bit more with spreads and swaps but when there's a signal, it's solid because the pairs actually move.

Speaking of volatile pairs, this year some of the major JPY pairs like USDJPY and GBPJPY have been unusually volatile due to the BoJ intervention schemes so I've only picked one of those pairs to use (GBPJPY).

PS: I don't check which pairs are volatile each and every day. I simply select the top 6 historically volatile forex pairs from the spreadsheet I make each year (using ATR and ADR for computation) and i'll publish the chart then trade those for the next 12 months.

The History/Trades/Orders visibility will be on "private" to avoid the myfxbook turning into another free signal copy service. I want to see more traders on board, studying the mechanical aspects of the system and posting up their charts as well as trades before anything else.

In terms of learning and pin-pointing past entries, you can check my posts which I've outlined a handful of entries and chart examples on the real account, here: I posted trades for a few weeks until the thread got derailed with off-topic requests.

I hope to see more participation!

The system is great! I use the M5 timeframe on gold and consistently make a profit, currently capturing 40 pips. With the H1 turning bullish, I’ve closed half of the position at 40 pips and I'm letting the rest run. Let's see how it goes! I usually start looking for entries 1 hour before the NY session, and my daily target is only 30 pips. However, after booking half profit at 30 pips, I let the rest run, so I either earn more pips or settle at breakeven. No overtrading if my target is reached, no more trades for the day. I trade only gold and BTC.

Good post we like these type of responses. Would you agree that the most important tools that influence the success of this system are both the:
  • The ADX Trend color changes
  • The histograms below it
Correct?

I can say that my system can be considered as the son of Beatle's and Xard's systems, with some black magic spices. Yes, 50% of the success here is the convergence of bottom indicators, the other 50% is the trend identification (here we have the ADX, but it works the same with TDI, RSI, RSIOMA, etc)

Awesome system, by the way. Happy to see that legacy is alive!

Cheers.

agreed, sir! The ADX trend is awesome!. I never go against what it indicates on the H1 timeframe, and I use the M5 timeframe for entries in the same direction, with both ADX and histogram confirmations. However, for identifying the overall trend, I only rely on the ADX trend on the higher timeframe.

Due to the unreliable price movements often seen in OTC price feeds, the system performs optimally with an ECN feed. For the best results, I recommend choosing a broker that offers an ECN price feed, as it provides more accurate and transparent pricing.
