The point being that Russia has captured the areas with the greatest density of defence lines and positions. To the left of Russian red shows much lower density of yellow defences and much more open countryside.
What defences there are in the blue zone are all recent, hastily dug and relatively weak compared to those already overcome by the Russian army.
All those retired Generals on TV who have been telling you that progression is linear and it will take the Russians 200 years to reach Kiev based on the rate of advance so far are going to need to switch their narrative real quick.
Meanwhile things are hotting up on the political front with the counter-corruption organisation NABO, which was set up by the US, going after Zelensky’s friends who fortunately were tipped off and able to skedaddle with their billions packed into their suitcases before they could get their collars felt by the very short arm of the Ukraine law.
The real question is though, is this a warning from the US to Zelensky himself? Remember that Ukraine must get a massive infusion of cash very soon or it all goes tits up, Zelensky says he must get $250 billion for the next 2 years.
Will the west crack and stump up in the end, or will they let the whole 17 years+ of investment in Project Ukraine just slide into the sea? Who knows.
