Lindsey Graham is one of the most pro-Ukrainian on the Trump team. And he was the only voice of reason from the United States today:
• I have been coming to this conference for 25 years. John McCain said at every conference: "Putin is a bastard. He is a liar!" And everyone is like: "Oh no, you misunderstood him!"
• Everyone who is now worried about the call [Trump to Putin]: where were you when we needed to stop Putin?
• Afghanistan ended badly, everyone agrees? But this [Ukraine] will not end badly. President Trump will not do to Ukraine what we did to Afghanistan. He will find a way to end this war, and the sooner the better.
• Putin will not stop until someone stops him. And you are stopping him.
• I think Trump will find a way to end the war in a way that Putin will be a fool to try again.
• How do you do that? Arm this guy [points to Zelensky] to the teeth.
[Voice from the audience: Yes, yes!] Yes! You give him a bunch of F-16s, not a couple. You give him ATACMS, you give him tanks. Because they will fight.
• So let's arm this guy. Let's make a deal on resources so that American business interests are here. Trump will defend this deal.
