Re: XARD - Simple Trend Following Trading System

Hi XARD Team,
On the v71 we have RSI which tell us the strength of the trend. We can see it by RSI scale from 0 to 100.
In v78 we there is no RSI, but there is a histogram, which only has pink/blue color. Do we just enter long if it shows the blue color regardless of the value (0-100)? Or is there any other option to evaluate the strength of the trend using histo?
Please help...
XARD: It was determined that price moved when the RSI crossed the 50 level and similar crossing was when ema13 crossed ema50. So I set the ema line to 13 & 50 and done away with the RSI. You can visually see the ema crossing and how price reacts, or you can simply add v71 RSI to the mix.

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (gamers choice) with 32GB DDR5 6000mhz and 1tb primary and 2tb secondary Crucial P5 6600mb/s and NVIDIA 3060 12gb graphics card.
I ended up going from Windows 11 Enterprise back to Linux Mint Cinnamon edition. Fecken missed Linux and it shows when I booted it up and how much easier it is to use than windows. I even set the taskbar up like windows 11 :-)

MT4 runs so sweet on Linux using Wine, its unbelievable.
I really only went to Windows for the HDR graphics mode for watching movies and tv shows.
I hate having to run everything on windows via %APPDATA%, so fecken annoying not being in control of your own files.
But with Linux you just place the MT4 folder wherever you want and run it from there, in fact you can easily run multiple versions by simply copying and renaming their folders.
I watched Foundation on Sunday using kodi on Linux Mint and the quality was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed the last episode of season two. i hope they make more seasons.

I am not saying that you should convert to Linux, I am just saying that I am now happy as a pig in shit with my new computer and OS.

Hey Xard
Apologies for bringing this old post up.

can i ask about your 7800x3d experience with MT4 ?

I am wondering if the 3D cache is of benefit to mt4 while i ponder 14700k vs 7800x3d

thanks
t

MT4 has quite basic 2D graphics, the 3D CPU's are only taken advantage of by some of the latest games. A 7800X will work just as well for MT4 as the 3D version, so unless you are into gaming or something else that will make use of it don't spend extra for the 3D version.
nil desperandum

Are you saying 3d cache is only for 3d graphics ?

My understanding was, and my terminology may have been misleading, that the 3D V-cache ( as used by the 7800x3d ) is an expanded L3 cache - not a GPU specific cache.

Feel free to correct me as I'm not an expert - but I'd like some sort of reference if you can please..

PS - this is a so-so review of some "productivity" type apps on X3D processors.

Maybe I am wrong, most information about it is referring to gaming.

My 5950X CPU runs quite warm with MT4 running, the voltage runs at or close to maximum all the time MT4 is running. This is in spite of using Ryzen master to tune the voltage settings and running it in power-saving mode. It does not cause any issues for me, just does not run as efficiently as one would expect.

no need to be corrected, you are right. It comes down to how the application leverage the cache. It's not just for gaming, it may help other applications, but mostly for gaming.

on a side note i'm using a r5 5700x and mt4 barely used it, i don't think you need to go crazy here. Unless you're doing something crazy in mt4 idk

Yep - 100% agree most of the info is on gaming....

oh - thanks for the info on your Ryzen.... not going to lie - i want the ryzen purely because i dont like giving Intel more money than i already have...

thanks for that....

other than lots of mt4 backtesting my needs are pretty mild. I would like to think mt4 would use it, but it is a pretty old platform.
