Regaining the lost territories would certainly be very difficult.

A missile with tactical nuke destructive power without using nukes will change modern warfare.

This new missile is revolutionary because it combines the best of both cruise and ballistic missiles without the downside of either.

ICBMs are huge and heavy (40 - 50 tons), very expensive, very difficult to build, poor accuracy (1 - 2 miles) and are really primarily designed for carrying strategic nukes (and therefore probably will never be used).

The Oreshnik is small, light weight (4 - 5 tons) very high accuracy (1-2 meters) and can be produced quickly, in high numbers and relatively cheaply (a cruise missile is typically just 15% the cost of a ballistic).

The Oreshnik's booster rocket is derived from existing missile tech such as the Kinzhal or Bulava (as mentioned in the 'Now I'm Scared' video posted yesterday) which basically do the same speed (Mach 10) and are already being turned out in high numbers.

But married to that rocket assembly is 6x6 MIRV warheads from ballistic missile technology.

So the new missile can either devastate a wide target area on the surface with just kinetic energy alone or, with advanced conventional explosives, destroy deep underground bunkers.

You're getting tactical nuke level destruction using a conventional weapon. Or put another way, you're getting 36 independent ballistic type warheads in one hypersonic cruise type missile.



In other news, Kiev talks of coming to terms with Russia, major portion of Ukr troops don't want to continue the war according to western media.

Meanwhile NATO (but not US) wants to escalate by sending troops to Ukr plus launch pre-emptive missile strikes into Russia.

One slight snag, NATO admits it needs to restock their warehouses first.

With the west determined to continue up the escalation ladder thinking only in terms that Russia won't fire nukes so it's all a bluff is just plain stupid.

Russia just proved they don't need nukes to really hurt the opposition, not only that but Rus know they're not only winning the conflict on the battlefronts but that Ukr are close to collapse, the west knows it too, which is why the west is panicking and escalating.

Russia has no need to confront the west directly - not yet anyway. Their better option is to just hammer the Ukr frontlines with everything including non-nuke ballistics to hasten the Ukr army collapse which would be especially embarrassing to the Biden admin if it happened before Jan 20th.

It would also stall any talk of a conflict freeze with the incoming Trump admin and which Rus are not interested in anyway.

NATO only have a limited number of ATACMS to fire from Ukr. Russia has a whole lot more missiles and way bigger ones too.

Very unlikely that the US would respond to mass Rus ballistic strikes on Ukr forces by firing ballistics from US or Europe into Ukraine or Russia. That really would be WW3.

No pics/vids in over a week since the Oreshnik missile strike, there would have been heaps if the damage was not substantial.

US again calls for Zelensky to mobilise the 18 - 25 year olds knowing full well there are only a couple of hundred thousand of them due to the birth rate plunge following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Clearly the US doesn't think there'll be any point in repopulating Ukr after the end of this conflict.

Reminder that Zelensky would have been done away with by his own people long ago if not for his US special forces and UK SAS personal bodyguard. Not too many leaders are allowed to oversee the complete destruction of their own country and its people.
