NATO countries say no to Rutte and Trump's plan for NATO to buy US weapons for Ukraine.
The big NATO countries are queuing up to denounce the plan. France, Spain, Italy, Hungry, and the Czech Republic are not going to participate. Poland is doubtful while Germany and UK are delaying any decision.
The UK certainly can't afford big weapons purchases and while Merz is keen German denies they are sending any patriot batteries to Ukraine.
The Trump admin should have known Mark Rutte is just another clown who has no real influence with individual EU countries. And that there never was any consensus before the meeting with Trump let alone had any kind of a deal been agreed.
So Trump's plan is falling apart while the Russians respond by completely dismissing the ultimatums Trump issued.
What can Trump do now? Not much, he can let the 50 days run out then decide whether to restart weapons and aid to Ukraine himself. Maybe Trump's new best friend Lyndsey Graham has some ideas?
Meanwhile, Lyndsey Graham is shouting from the rooftops that the US should missile strike Moscow ASAP, … oh ok.
Ukraine's current main problems;
Lack of man power.
Lack of money to pay pensions and salaries.
Lack of defence against hundreds of Geran drones and FAB bombs raining in daily.
The dozen odd actual missiles being fired by Russia are a problem but not a main one.
The point being that there is nothing in the suggested aid packages to address any of these main problems.
Reminder that Biden gave $61 Billion for 2024 and it did nothing to stop the Russian advance. A fist full of patriot missiles is not going to either.
Meanwhile II, a sudden about turn in the western press, recent articles;
NYT on Ukrainian war crimes.
FT on Zelensky the dictator.
The Guardian on Zelensky's authoritarianism.
The Spectator on how Ukrainians have lost faith in Zelensky.
What could it all mean?
On the battlefronts Russia are current surrounding 2 Ukraine cities at once.
This huge area includes Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad and is likely to contain many thousands of Ukrainian troops.
CNN are saying that Russia is sending in 150,000 troops for a 'last ditch attack' before Trump's 50 day deadline runs out. Good explanation as to why that theory is nonsense in the Willy OAM video below.

The US say they will continue to supply weapons to Zelensky but only so long as someone else pays for them.
Zelensky doesn't have any money, the big NATO countries are busy staring at their shoes and the little NATO countries are loudly yapping their enthusiasm but can only raise enough money for half a patriot missile between them.
And so this is how Ukraine dies. At least it's with a whimper and not a bang.
It would take a complete reversal by Trump to reverse the inevitable, though even that could only be a delay.
Fantastic news from Usula van der Moron, the EU is going to give Ukraine €160 Billion over the next 7 years. She just needs to pass the hat round for the individual countries to chuck in their contributions, should be no problem given that they will also need to find €800 Billion for the EU's own defence bill.
Unbelievably France (Macron) and Germany (Merz) are outraged, I just can't understand why?????
The reality for the western European countries is that they are all in a fiscal crisis, they are all, except Germany, already up to their ears in debt and an attempt at a huge increase in borrowing will spark a bond collapse.
Germany on the other hand, though not yet in a debt crisis, has been deindustrialising for the last 4 years and is, in effect, in a financial depression.
Germany is not able to prop up the rest of Europe financially. All these astronomic spending plans by the EU are all total bullshit.
On the bright side, if there is a wide spread bond market crash and European nations become second world they may then qualify for joining BRICS, so there is some hope.
Puzzling Paradoxes:
1) Trump says he wants to 'stop the killing' and 'getting the US out of Biden's war', by shoring up the weaker side with tons of lethal weapons.
2) Zelensky says that the conflict is now an existential threat to Ukraine but won't help resolve the main issue of lack of man power by ordering the mobilisation of 18 – 25 year olds. What's he saving them for it there it's an 'existential' threat?
3) Western European countries say the question of who rules the Donbas is an existential threat to themselves, and so they're willing to commit suicide by deindustrialisation if it turns out to be the Russians.

US journalist Seymour Hersh says the Trump admin has a plan to send Zelensky into exile and replace him with Zaluzhny (ex army chief).
Other publications are following suit, Kit Klarenberg
@KitKlarenberg
How interesting the FT and Spectator within hours of each other have published unprecedentedly damning - and almost identical - articles about Zelensky, his "authoritarian" rule, and how his government and the public have lost faith in him. He's 100% toast.
Merz has been told by Trump to give Zelensky a patriot battery and the US will replace it with a new model ... sometime in the future. Germany said ok, we'll deliver it to Ukraine ... in about 6 months.
Ursula van der Moron has outdone herself by announcing a fantasy €2 Trillion EU budget for the next 7 years (even more than I gave her credit for in yesterday's post).
Macron and Merz are spitting tacks.
Ukraine prosecutor's office have initiated over 100,000 criminal cases for desertion for the first 6 months of this year.
Meanwhile a plague of locusts are attacking crops in southern Ukraine (seriously, they are).
And Australia finally starts delivery of 50 old Abrams tanks to Ukraine, these were promised years ago but without major upgrading were considered a death trap (ps, they haven't been upgraded).

Zelensky very suddenly has decided he does now want to meet the Russians for talks in Istanbul having said there was no point as Russia was obviously not ready to surrender yet and so the US must up their game.
The only reason Zelensky would have changed his mind was if Trump had ordered him to.
But what has actually changed – nothing really, there has been the talk of Trump replacing Zelensky but Zelensky has entrenched himself like any proper dictator would and is looking confident he has Trump's backing.
The recent Ukraine government reshuffle promoting pro-Zelensky people would indicate as much.
After the EU number 2 Kaja Kallas' disastrous meeting with China's Wang Yi where she thought it would be a great idea to hijack the talks and surprise the Chinese delegation with a long list of the west's perceived crimes committed by China over the last 30 odd years, and so properly chastised expected the Chinese to buckle under to her demands to stop all trade with Russia and become a EU vassal or something.
Unfortunately for KK Wang Yi is a real diplomat and was able to address and rebut every point raised and then told KK that in fact the Chinese were now more determined than ever to do everything possible to ensure Russian would not be defeated in Ukraine.
Now Ursula van der Moron says 'hold my beer' as she embarks on a mission to China to put them right. This is going to be hilarious, can't wait.

The west still refuses to accept that Ukraine and NATO are losing this conflict and, to Ukraine's destruction, are losing badly.
The pentagon, who know better, are accepting Zelensky's propaganda figures of Ukraine casualty figures, Russian casualty figures, Russian drones and missiles downed by Ukraine air defence.
These fake numbers are passed onto the western media and politicians who, if they fully back the cause and most do, are trumpeted continuously as fact.
The important thing is to studiously ignore inconvenient truths.
Like bursting at the seams Ukraine cemeteries, Ukrainian army press gangs, Russian volunteer numbers, filmed destruction of Ukrainian cities.
But you can't fool all the people all the time, notice the massive decline of Ukraine flags in western folk's social media bio's.
There comes a point where continuing to fight is no longer in your best interests and Ukraine reached that point a long time ago.
But Ukraine was never driving this war, NATO is, and NATO has not finished in their attempts to 'hurt Russia', though actually they're just continuing to make Russia stronger.
Thanks to the WEF placement of hand picked politicians into western democracies our politicians are no longer capable of actual thinking.
Meanwhile retired US army generals on TV are still talking about how the US can force Putin to do this or that not realising that Putin stopped listening to the west months ago.
The west are demanding Russia agrees to an unconditional ceasefire which would be great for Ukraine but detrimental to the Russian position. Russia say they will agree to a conditional ceasefire but that won't help Ukraine so forget it.
The reality that the US does not have the means to force anything is inconceivable to the politicians and TV generals. It's just been so long since facing a near-peer adversary that understanding simple reality escapes them.
Sure they could act to destroy Russia by military means having failed by economic means but not without triggering a nuclear Armageddon, all over who gets to control the Donbas, so no, there really is nothing the west can do.
It's too late to start an arms race and the west knows that Russia is not really interested in any further contacts westward anyway, not even to sell their cheap energy unfortunately. And even more unfortunate it's all going to go to China instead making their production lines cheaper while Europe's get more expensive.
Russian drone launches are now averaging 500 a day. Ukraine are not shooting down 95% of them as they claim. They have very few interceptor missiles and are mostly dependent on 50cal machine guns instead. The Geran2 drones, by attacking at night, with high altitude flight ability and manoeuvring ability, and their high speed vertical dives to target can avoid the guns and strike with precision easily.
Russia is now targeting Ukraine's military production sites and storage depots compounding supply problems started by the west's inability to keep the flow of weapons and equipment going at the needed rate.
All the talk now is of Ukraine hanging on, none of actual victory, but hanging on for what?
NATO is not coming to the rescue and as each day passes Ukraine diminishes. Things will not be better down the road, they'll be worse.
And so Ukraine starts new huge cemetery building projects.
A French military source: (La Figaro Article)
Moscow's “thousand cuts” strategy is intensifying. The front is not set in stone. Offensives are localized in a multitude of small battles fought over a few kilometers. The cuts are getting deeper, even though the Ukrainian army is already weakened. It is stretched over a front of more than 1,000 km. Lacking sufficiently frequent replacements and human resources, the units are becoming exhausted.
..."Forces of Ukraine are in [dire straits]... Can they last six months? A year? In reality, the war is already lost", continued in the military source. In this war of attrition, the time changes everything.
Latest news Russia say they tracked US envoy Keith Kellogg on a visit to a drone making factory several days ago and yesterday completely destroyed the facility with missiles (see vids on Military Summary video below)
