Really, what difference will that make other than to just increase the Ukrainian death toll.

The Ukrainian leadership should have realised this war was a lost cause years ago when it was obvious the sanctions had failed.

It should have been clear to the western leadership as well but then they didn't care as it was the Ukrainians doing the dying, and if they were causing even just a little hurt to Russia then good job.

Under western sanctions Russia is now far stronger than before.

Ukrainian leadership must know that they will never get Crimea or the 4 eastern oblasts back. If they can come to terms now they should consider themselves lucky.

But Zelensky is determined to do a Hitler. He would rather see the whole country burn to the ground than admit it's all over.


Even Kellogg now admitting that the conflict is actually a proxy war between NATO and Russia though, as is pointed out in the latest Mecuoris video, proxy is an understatement given the recent NYT article exposing the depth of control exercised by the NATO such as total overall planning, intel and equipment supply. The only thing Ukraine is providing are the troops and the territory.

Also noted was Kellogg hinting that the US was indeed prepared to 'walk away' if the Istanbul talks fail.

Not to be outdone by retired US generals a retired British general is calling for arming Zelensky with nuclear weapons, after all what could possibly go wrong?

There seems to be a sudden surprised realisation that Ukraine is losing and there is therefore an urgent need to stop the Russians marching on Europe while the west don't have any conventional means of stopping them.


The big drone strike by Ukraine on 4 Russian airfields can only have one goal and that's to provoke Putin into an overzealous retaliation and so hope the west responds by sending troops to Ukraine.

That has been Zelensky's plan for a long time now and is very unlikely to work this time either.

Some commentators saying Russia will respond with Oreshnik missiles on Kiev but I don't see the point. More likely that Russia will learn from this new form of attack but just continue with what's already working.

Russia will respond by moving aircraft around and increase security. The fact that there is a big PR operation including showing how the raids were carried out show they were a one-off PR stunt. Whatever, they will not able to change the trend of the war that has been established over the last 2 years.

The very odd thing about this drone operation was that the biggest threat to Ukraine from the Russian air force are the SU-34 and SU-35s launching FAB bombs.

So why did the Ukrainians target Russia's long-range strategic bombers?

I can see the benefit to the US, but none to Ukraine, other than PR.

It's similar to a while back when Ukraine drones were attacking oil storage tanks, Russia still had plenty of oil and there was no effect on the battlefield, but the US wanted to try to adversely affect the Russian economy.


Reminder Mediazone find Russian deaths are 100,000, analysts agree that long-range fires account for 80% of all casualties, they also agree Russia has a 10 to 1 advantage in long-range fires, ergo - Ukrainian deaths are 10x Russian, around 1,000,000.

Amusingly Ukraine inverts the Russian/Ukrainian stats in a straightout act of 'projection'.

The 1 mill figure also equates with intel leaked to a number of US ex military commentators by US military sources (see Carlson video below).


Up next are the Istanbul talks today. Russia were already hinting that the latest terms will be the harshest yet (that's even before the drone attack).

The Russian military command is out: the attack on 5 Russian air bases, including thousands of kilometers away in Siberia and the Far North, by drones that were hidden in trucks and launched remotely - even Putin did not expect this.

President Zelensky said that Operation Spiderweb disabled up to a third of the Russian strategic aviation, in particular the Tu-95, Tu-22 and A-50 - aircraft that the Russian Federation uses to launch cruise missiles.

The analogy with Pearl Harbor, which Russia is already citing, is not entirely accurate - Pearl Harbor opened a new war, and the attack on Russian airfields became part of Ukraine's defense in the ongoing war.

But there is a commonality: these strikes demonstrated the collapse of the old military doctrine. In 1941, it was battleships. Today, it is manned aircraft. Drones, which cost many times less, hit the aviation by $ 7 billion.

This bold strike is also a response to the shortage of Patriot missiles. The Ukrainians decided: if you can’t intercept a missile, you need to destroy the plane on the ground.

Ukrainian drones have proven that there are no “unreachable” bases. If they got deep into Russia’s rear, China or North Korea could do the same tomorrow. You can forget about fences and patrols. The future belongs to those who know how to catch threats from the sky.

Both Ukraine and Russian memorandums have been revealed and, surprise surprise, they contain the exact same points that each side has been putting forward for months.

Not really a surprise as the 2 US teams (Witkoff and Kellogg) have done nothing to change the stance of either side after 3 months of trying.

They met for just 1 hour which is only enough time for preliminaries and exchange of documents and not much more, though some report say there may be another prisoner exchange and that Russia has 6,000 bodies to hand back to Ukraine.

So with the Russians it took 3 months for the US teams to realise they had no leverage whatsoever.

With the Ukrainians it was 3 months of time wasting because Ukraine is a vassal and the US had no intention of changing the Ukrainian position which they had engineered for them in the first place.

Presumably Trump thought he was going to win Putin over and get him to change the Russian position, which if was the case, was far too optimistic.

For Russia the situation is an existential threat and they were never going to compromise at all.

The Trump team thought the conflict was a just another one of their everyday good old fashioned conflicts between good and evil and so presumed to be able to make a quick win, or a quick deal, or at the very least get a quick ceasefire.

Of course after 3 months Trump has got nowhere, but it's not clear if he's figured out why.

The question is what now? Does he become Biden 2.0 or wrap the whole thing up and walk away?

There are those suggesting that Trump doesn't have the level of control that people expect of a president and doesn't have permission from the deep state to just walk away.


Ukraine claimed 41 Russian planes damaged/destroyed. Despite the fact that although each drone had video there's only video evidence of 5. There is also satellite pictures (where did they come from?) indicating another 8 planes damaged/destroyed though we know from past experience satellite photos can be faked, so maybe only 13 odd altogether.

That Russian bombers were openly displayed on the tarmac for all (including satellites) to see is actually part of a nuclear arms control agreement between the US and Russia, the US does the same. Exploiting this agreement and attacking the planes might have profound consequences for the future.

The Russians must be asking just how much help from the US did Zelensky actually have for this attack? And why should they continue to adhere to this agreement which was designed to make the whole world a safer place? (see George Beebe video below)


Meanwhile, the European's clear goal now is to get a new long-term cold war started between the west and Russia.
It's essential for them to get the US re-engaged and recommitted to an anti-Russian Europe because the Europeans have only just realised, after spending 3 years poking the bear, that they're 10 years and €800 billion away from being able to defend themselves.

The EU/UK were so very brave - right up to the point when they suddenly realised the US might just walk away from this debacle.

On the battlefronts the Russians are facing decreasing opposition (where the hell are those women Hodges promised?) and so are making larger flanking moves that are creating larger pockets/cauldrons to trap larger numbers of Ukrainian troops (see Military Summary video below).
